The D2 is located outside the city centre, right at the heart of the night bazaar (from about 6pm onwards every night, you can walk up and down the street to get items, must like a flea market, but a bit more organised.) On this street you will find lots of restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with both Thai and western food up and down the street. For location, it is a great place.

The hotel itself seems to be out of place, more of a boutique hotel that should be located in a big city, not in a cultural city like Chiang Mai. Very "Hip/Chic" looking hotel with bright colour designs for much of the hotel. The rooms themselves were quite comfortable in size (good for 2 people), the beds were average in comfort with the bathroom a little better than average 4* hotels. they had seperate shower and bath tubs (which is my preference). They have a few classy touches like gift boxes and have a floor dedicated for tour desk/concierge. Despite all this, they couldn't deliver a newspaper in the morning for me for any of the days I stayed. Despite calling me up every day and asking which paper I wanted (I always replied "any paper is fine"), they seem a little disorganised in terms of service, as they didn't look too comfortable when requested them to book a taxi for the airport, as they called me up 3 or 4 times to confirm that taxi.

There are no real faults in the D2 hotel, but given the price compared to other places in Chiang Mai it is simply not worth staying here, as there are many, many other places with favourable locations for less than half the price of this hotel and only a little bit less in terms of quality.

I would probably recommend another hotel near this location, which would save you lots of money that you can spend for all the thai masages and food on offer.

The D2 exceeded all expectations. Fond memories of my amazing stay the last time I was in Chiang Mai meant that the D2 was the only hotel I considered staying at, on this trip.

From being picked up at the airport to being dropped off again, D2's service is impeccable. I loved every aspect of my stay with them - the quirky welcome drink glasses, the vast choice of the breakfast buffet, the funky room décor, the great lounge music played in the lobby, the shift-change dance performed by the staff.

However, what really stands out is D2's EXCEPTIONAL service. The staff are simply fabulous. Think of the most outlandish request and they will be "delighted" to help you with it!!!

I have no hesitation is recommending the D2.

I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel D2 in late March 2008. I was there for 6 days and all I could say is WOW!

This hotel is amazing! I was picked up at Chiang Mai airport by a hotel driver and delivered to D2 within 20 minutes.

The hotel is gorgeous! From the beautifully appointed lobby to the stunning rooms.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Anything I could have possibly needed they either got it for me or directed me to where I could find it.

Everything about this hotel is attractive and good looking, including the staff. I never once had to open a door to either enter or leave the hotel.

The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Everyone spoke English very well and if there was ever the possibility of a language barrier ... they would get assistance from another staff member to make certain everything was understood.

Excellent service is of prime importance to the staff and they delivered!

The suite I stayed in was beautifuly appointed. It had 2 flat screen TV's, coffee maker, hi-speed internet, dual air-conditioning and an amazing marble bathroom.

The room was modern, well planned out and architecturally stunning. Attention to detail is obvious.

I would highly recommend Hotel D2.

I have stayed in hotels in over 30 countries in the world. Hotel D2 is arguably the best or one of the best Hotels I have ever stayed in.

If you are looking for a true 5 star hotel experience ... then Hotel D2 is for you.

Overall I had a great stay at the D2 Dusit Hotel.

The staff were cheerful, the service excellent, the rooms very comfortable and reasonably priced.

My only disappointment would be with the prices charged for room service and pool-side beverages as I felt this were a little expensive.
