My husband and I stayed at the Pullman King Power in Bangkok on the way back from Krabi. The hotel was clean, airy and contemporary. We booked the executive room for the small extra charge and it was well worth it. The room was a reasonable size for a city hotel and the executive lounge was welcoming with nice breakfast, canapes (between 5pm and 7pm) and free internet all day. The location was great, close to the skytrain. There is a free tuk tuk service to the station which is handy after a long day of shopping and sightseeing!

Downside: Lack of veggie options but if they can understand you, they will be happy to make something for you. Tip, take a phrase book with you.

“great hotel - solid 4 star plus”

Pullman Bangkok King Power

Pullman bangkok is a great new hotel, 5 mins walk to Monument Sky train station or you can use the free tuk-tuk. The lobby is very minimalistic but with plenty of space. The service is very good and honest. We booked executive suit on the 19th floor. The suite is really nice with 2 LCD TV, coffe machine, I Pod, executive lounge with great choice of cocktails and canapes between 1730 - 1930 and huge breakfast. The breakfast can get busy as the hotel is very popular with Asian tourists. They have very good set lunch menu. The swimming pool is great. The SPA is out of this world but very expensive. Look for the specials. I will strongly suggest booking executive room which will give you access to the lounge.
Overall the hotel is a very solid 4star plus hotel. it is not as luxury as Peninsula or Shangri LA but very good base to explore Bangkok if you want to save some money.

“Solid Hotel”

Pullman Bangkok King Power

5 of 5 stars
Kentucky
Jul 12, 2008

This is a very solid four and half star hotel in Bangkok. This hotel is located very close to the Victory Monument skytrain station; maybe a 5 minute walk or you can take the free tuk tuk ride to the station. The only problem is if you get back after 9pm you'll have to walk back to the hotel, but again, not a bad walk.

The room design was very nice, great views, very comfortable beds, very nice bathrooms, and very comfortable all around. It would have been nice if the rooms had just a couple of extra sq meters of space, but for the price this hotel was a steal.

The other things we liked about the hotel: pool, breakfast, service, location, executive lounge and the perks that were included with that, and the atmosphere of the hotel.

“Highly Recommend!”

Pullman Bangkok King Power

My husband & I stayed in the Pullman for 6 nights & absolutely loved it. Bangkok wasn't our favorite place in Thailand but the Pullman was just beautiful! The staff were so friendly & couldn't help us enough. Our room was only on the 3rd level which was very quiet. Didn't hear any traffic as hotel is set back off road. The only noise was the main door to each room, banged shut no matter how hard you tried to close it! The rooms were gorgeous & beds were the best! 2 free waters & 2 free soft drinks each day were good. The pool was great & staff were so attentive. Gym was small, but good. Drinks in the Glen Bar were great (except expensive) a lovely setting especially with the piano bar & snacks with drinks. They did have Happy hour & 2 for 1 deals which were good. The breakfast was amazing, they catered for everyone! We ate once at night at Banquet, which was huge although food was a little cold. Great restaurants across the road much cheaper. 7 11 store across the road. Only 5 minute walk to Skytrain, shopping centre & supermarket. Only a few stops & you are at MBK. A beautiful refuge in Bangkok. Highly recommend!

“Probably the best hotel I will ever stay in”

Pullman Bangkok King Power

5 of 5 stars
Melbourne, Australia

I cannot stress enough how great this hotel is. I got a good rate because they had opening season offers, and also because I got a free night using my Asia Miles.
One 'negative' thing that happened is my credit card was charged twice. After a few calls back and forth between Accor this was resolved (probably due to teething issues) and they UPGRADED me to a deluxe room with use of the executive floor! So for what I got I paid bargain basement prices, and I'm quite grateful that was sorted out quickly with such a reward for having to 'endure' the problem 8-)

Room: Interesting room that you can really open up. The bedroom can look into the bathroom, and the closet can be opened from inside the bathroom. Heaps of the usual amenities (shampoo, lotion, soap, nice fluffy robes and slippers, tea and coffee, mini bar, fridge with free soft drink, water or fruit juice) but also slightly more unusual ones like a free shoe shine service, interactive TV, pillow menu. Had some room service which was very fast and really nice. Expensive for Thailand maybe but I thought quite reasonably priced for an upper class hotel. Had complimentary fruit upon arrival and papers every day.

Executive floor privileges (all FREEEE):
- breakfast in the lounge which offers a condensed version of what's offered in the main restaurant, and a special cooked breakfast menu. (Main buffet was nice with heaps and HEAPS of variety, well worth it, just seemed rather crowded and loud every day)
- canapes in the evening, which essentially replaces dinner. Lots of little fancy dessert cups, sandwiches, chocolate, fruit, canapes, fried finger food, sushi, all sorts of drinks inc alcohol for free
- computers for internet use inc webcam
- massage chair
- various newspapers, mags and games (other international newspapers can be ordered for a small fee)
- free drinks and snacks all day long
- free suit pressing, free piece of laundry per day, free local calls, late check out
- 15% off at the duty free mall (where you pick up your goods at the airport all wrapped up for you to take through security)
- use of airport lounge!! (Which wasn't very good, or even very air conditioned, quite an exposed space, had a few cakes and sandwiches and drinks, very SLOW internet, showers and chairs, but it was freeee!)
and other stuff that I didn't use 8-)

Pool: Really large with separate areas, nice sunbeds, big fluffy towels for you to use, nice view on top of roof.
Gym: Lots of machines, big space, trainer to help you!
Spa: Very expensive! Looked professional though. (250 baht for a 1hr massage in dodgy place is normal, this charged an arm and a leg)

Staff: everyone was really really nice and polite (famous Thai hospitality), and I think the Miss Thailand was being held there so reporters and tall beautiful women swanning around was quite an experience.

Don't forget there's a free tuk tuk to nearest train and another shopping mall, fish feeding in the main atrium, really funky bars and restaurants inside the hotel, nice friendly concierge! There's not much around the area but the sky train will get you anywhere, and it's pretty cheap.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — The service, the executive floor priviledges, breakfast/canapes changing every day with huge variety
    • Disliked — Executive lounge at airport wasn't spectacular
