My husband and I stayed in Bangkok for 6 nights on our way home from Phuket. We had read about Siam@Siam design on tripadvisor and thought it looked good. Good is not the word, Fantastic. Think of your chain hotel, painted walls, carpeted etc. Siam is not that. Concrete floors, walls, trendy coloured walls, trendy furnishings, so different it was great. Room was very comfortable with king size bed, lounge, large bathroom.

Lobby and pool are on the 11th floor, pool is amazing in that you swim to the edge and the edge is 11floors down, brillant. Has a small spa and the front but swimming in this pool is great. Plenty of lounge chairs and a couple of day beds also. Pool towels are provided so no need to pack them. Drinks at the bar a reasonable price with beer and soft drink the cheapest, spirits a bit dearer. Free internet is available in the lobby also.

Breakfast is full buffet breakfast with eggs cooked any way you want, pancakes, bacon juice you name it they had it. Coffee is good also.

We had a massage on the last day and was heaven. I asked for a relaxing massage and that is what I got for an hour A$45. Bath robes are provided in your room to wear to level 10 where spa 10 is, water is provided and after the spa, fresh fruit and tea.

Siam is in walking distance of MBK shopping centre which has 7 floors of shopping/food etc. We were not to sure about eating in Bangkok as we were in Phuket so stuck to the shopping centre and had thai bbq, tepanyaki etc.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful when asking about directions and places to visit. Taxis are the easiest way to get around and air conditioned (tuk tuk taking you life in your hands). Taxis go straight to where you want. We took the sky train which is just out the front door of the hotel which is easy and safe but the long boat on the river was a rip off. We paid 500bht for train and boat to get to the grand palace and taxi only cost 75bht to get back.

All in all we loved this hotel because it was different to a traditional hotel. We would stay here again. Lots of families here also.

What you see on the siam@siam website is what you see in the hotel.

River kwai and tiger temple a must. spent lots of time with tigers playing with them and holding cubs.

This hotel is in an excellent situation for shopping as it is a 5 min walk to MBK, Siam Square and the Skytrain so it is quick and easy to travel around. We checked in at 8am due to an early flight and were shown to our rooms at 9.30 so we were able to rest before going out. I liked the design of the hotel because it was so different. Had a lovely meal there and a live band plays every night. Also pianist on lobby floor. Breakfasts were great with plenty of choice. Staff were very friendly. My daughter and I walked back from shops every evening and felt completely safe. Taxis not keen to take you to hotel from airport due to heavy traffic. Also reluctant when my husband and son tried to return to hotel from go karting stadium.

“Good location, room ok, some staff let the Hotel down.”

We stayed here for 2 nights before we left Bangkok. The location was very good - short walk to the Sky Train, handy 7-11 just outside for bottled water.

The room was clean and was well equipped, the only downside was being able to hear everyone who walked past the room - including the cleaners in the morning. Due to the nature of the rooms and decor there doesn't really seem to be much sound proofing. Our room was on the side of the hotel facing the train station, which you could hear until the service finished after midnight.

On our first day at the hotel, as we were leaving we were offered a Bangkok map from the man sat at the car/tour hire desk. He asked where we were going and when we said the MBK shopping centre to have a look, he told us we shouldn't go there as all the things sold were rubbish, marked it on the map a block further way (despite it being printed on the map in the correct place) and told us we should go to the Gem shop up the road to get a ring like the one he was wearing!!! Quite funny considering we had just been reading the letter the hotel leaves in the rooms warning new visitors to Bangkok about getting scammed.

“not for honeymooners”

We knew that after staying at a luxurious resort in Phuket, it would be hard for this hotel to match the standards set, and our expectations for this hotel took this into account. However, the hotel was dark, cold and most uninviting. The room was small and uncomfortable. Definately not the way we wanted to finish our honeymoon. We were so disappointed that we rearranged our travel arrangements and left Bangkok two days earlier than planned.

“A great place!”

We booked a room at Siam@Siam during our honeymoon stay - I needed to be in the center of bangkok to curb my shopping cravings.

1) Location of Hotel - Great! near a train station which means we can get to anywhere very easily without taking taxis! 5 mins walk away from MBK, where we can get good, cheap food and lots of shopping.

2) Service - Was fairly good. Most of the staff were well spoken and eloquent. The only thing was that I had an odd vibe from one of the staff who seems more interested in talking and attending to Caucasians on more than one occasion. Nothing personal, I might be too sensitive.

3) Room was pretty! Well..very different. I like the layout of the room, the comfortable bed and the unique toilet door.

4) Food was ok. Quite boring honestly. They serve the same food every morning.

5) As this is still a relatively new hotel, many taxi drivers still may not know where it is. I guess by now they would, but during the time we were there, we had to give the drivers instructions to get to Siam@Siam.

Overall, a pleasant experience. prices seem to be going up and up though! I remember paying much less a year ago.
