Duration of Stay: May 16th-19th and 26th
Booked With: Agoda.com for approximately $110 US a night for a Leisure Class Room.
Location: The Hotel is situated 1 block away from the National Stadium stop on the Skytrain. Also, close to shopping centers such as MBK, Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery, Siam Square, Hard Rock Café. These are less than a 10 minute walk from the Hotel.
Leisure Class Room: 1 bottle of water per day per guest is provided free of charge. There is also an umbrella in the room which you can take with you if rain is expected, thought that was a nice touch. There are two robes and two pairs of slippers provided stored in the closet. The safety Deposit box also in the closet was easy to use. We had two full size beds in our room, as you can see in the pictures. The view from our room was fantastic as you could see the whole city. There is a hair dryer in the room and an iron is sent up via a request from housekeeping. In the bathroom, cotton balls, Q-tips, shower caps, Sewing needle, body lotion, shampoo and shower gel are all provided. There was no smell in the room and the water pressure was very good. Also, our wake up calls were always on time.
Breakfast: Breakfast was included in the price we paid for the hotel. It’s an extensive buffet consisting of, an omlette station, 6+ varieties of local fresh fruits, fruit juices, cereal, 4-5 Thai dishes(noodles, rice, chicken and pork dishes), pastries, eggs, pancakes, sausages etc…There is something for everyone at Breakfast!
Pool: The pool is located on the Lobby level on the 11th floor. It is an infinity pool overlooking the national Stadium, with great views of the city. If you cannot swim it may be a bit deep for most people. The pool was great to take a swim after a long day of shopping and to sip on a beer in the lounge area.
Internet: They have free Wi-Fi in all rooms if you travel with a laptop. If you don’t, guests are allowed free of charge to browse the internet in the lobby of the Hotel which is on the 11th floor (same floor as the pool).
Taxis: If you need a taxi always get one at the hotel because the driver will turn the meter on. If you try to get one on your own on the street chances are he will not use the meter.
Luggage Storage: A huge plus was that the hotel stored our luggage free of charge while we travelled onwards to Chiang Mai and Phuket. We arrived back in Bangkok on May 26th and our luggage was in the same condition we left it.
On May 26th, we arrived back at Siam@Siam. Since our flight was at midnight the same day we decided against booking a room as it would cost us another $110 US a night. Instead, we dropped off additional luggage to be stored and headed to MBK for last minute shopping and one last massage. After shopping, back at the hotel, they removed our bags from storage and provided a place to pack additional purchases and to get a change of clothing after showering for our flight. The bags were then sent back to storage and we headed to the SPA to shower and change for our flight. At the SPA they provided robes and toiletries for our use. We even took a dip in the Jacuzzi before our shower. After we were ready we got our bags from the Luggage Storage and they were loaded into the taxi and we were off to the Airport. We felt bad they had to take our luggage so we could pack additional items and then send it back to storage again so that we could shower. But they surely did not have a problem and the staff was always pleasant and would do anything we asked of them.
Overall: This is a fantastic hotel. I would describe it as modern, funky and industrial-chic. The staff is helpful, friendly and speaks English. The service was top notch, they always responded in a timely manner whenever we had a request. I cannot recommend them highly enough. To date in all my travels, this has to be the best hotel experience I’ve had. I have no complaints about this hotel and it would be my first choice if and when I do head back to Bangkok.
Also Recommended – There is a shop for massages approximately 1 block away from the hotel (headed in the direction of MBK, same side as the hotel). We got foot massages everyday and a full body oil massage the day we flew back to the US. I recommend them as the prices are cheap and negotiable. Also, the girls are friendly.
In response to other reviews, I never felt pressured by the Tours desk to book anything. We told them we had already booked our tours before arriving and they were fine with that. They never asked again. The concierge was always helpful when we asked for dinner recommendations. He would also call and make reservations.
