“Fantastic hotel with the most helpful and friendly staff”

Centre Point Silom

We booked a 2 double bedroom suite and stayed for 4 nights. Room was spotless and VERY spacious. Having stayed at many 4*and 5* hotels, Centre Point Silom is among the top 5 for quality of service, courteous/efficient staff and facilities. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. Hotel pool was clean and had a lovely roof top view. There's a department store conveniently located at the bottom of the hotel and a lovely fruit market nearby. In the afternoon/evening, there are plenty of street food stalls and a 24 hour 7/11 across the road. Sky train and boats are about 10-15 minute walk but taxi's are so cheap, we only used public transport twice! Would definitely recommend this hotel to couples and families. The staff were so helpful and friendly, it left a lasting impression and we will definitely be going back!

“Very good value for money”

Centre Point Silom

Only stayed here for one night, but it was very pleasant and I would stay there again. Staff were efficient and courteous. Although the normal check-in time is 2pm, we were allowed to check in early (10am) and we were also upgraded from the studio room I had booked to a very large one-bedroom (4 room) suite overlooking the river! - We could walk from the lounge to the bedroom to the dressing room(!) to the bathroom to the kitchen and back to the lounge! They are renovating the hotel and I think this might have been why we were upgraded, but the renovations were unobtrusive (swimming pool & gym still open) and didn't affect us. There was a good choice at breakfast and the restaurant was bright and airy.

The hotel has an entrance directly into Robinsons dept store and there is a supermarket in the basement of the little mall, which would make it very convenient for a longer stay. It's a short walk to the skytrain stn and the ferry piers. We didn't have any problem getting a taxi either (taxis seem to have improved a lot in Bangkok, as all of them used a meter!).

Had a choice between this hotel or the Shangri-La and I'm glad that we chose Centre Point. I don't think we would have got a huge suite with a river view for USD 79 at the Shangri-La!!

“Great Place”

Centre Point Silom

Great place - for once the hotel looked like the website picture !

The hotel is ideally situated a few steps away from Saphan Taksin BTS station and 100m from the Saphan Taksin riverboat pier. The building also contains a Robinson's department store.

We took a one-bedroom apt, with riverview. The kitchen was smallish but adequate, the living room huge, as was the bedroom and walk-in closet... The fixtures are mostly wood and showing their age, but only a little. Nice TV, DVD system. Breakfast was not bad, the gym is adequate, the pool is small but beautiful (visit at night).

What stood out is the service - I am well-travelled, but have never seen anything like it. We asked for an extra towel and it was there within minutes. I had a problem with the internet connection at 2am and within 5 minutes a technician was there ! We also asked for the hotel to arrange a babysitter which was good (200B an hour).

“Very nice!”

We loved this place! The room was huge! We had an awesome view of Bangkok from the 22nd floor. This was a studio apartment. Had a full kitchen, huge bathroom, washer/dryer and everything we needed. There was a full staff of security men/doormen. Someone was always there to greet you, get a taxi for you, and just in general make you feel happy to be there.

The location is fantastic. Right near much more expensive places like the Shangra La. Robinsons Department store is right next door and you don't even have to go outside to get there our to a big grocery. The skytrain is just a minutes walk. Breakfast was fantastic! We will definetly stay there again.

“good for the money but really needs renovation”

Centre Point Silom

the location of the centre point silom is great. you are just there at the river close to the pier, skytrain, chinatown etc. So a good place to start discovering bangkok especailly for this price. I paid 78 $ through Agoda. It's nice to have a complete kitchen. There is a big supermarket in the same building (Robinsons) where you can get all you need.
But it's really in a worn out condition - actually renovation is going on. So I can not understand why it gets so many 5.0 - I also stayed in the Davis and the rooms there definitely deserve a 5.0.
The breakfast at the centre point is rather basic and not so tasty. After our first breakfast we decided not to eat there anymore and its no problem to find decent food in Bangkok.
Staff is very nice and polite. The rooms are clean. Unfortunately the water has a nasty muddy smell. sometimes we only had cold water available. the aircon is working well but very noisy. So hopefully after they refurbished all the apartments it will improve but probably also the prize will rise.
all in all ok for the prize
