“Superb hotel”

Millennium Hilton Bangkok

Excellent - apparently a 4 star but could definitely compete with the best of the 5 stars and for the price - we paid <£90 per night must be the best value in Bangkok

Best hotel stayed in in Asia by far. Rooms have super views of the river and the city - ask for a room on floors 20 and above facing South and you will spend hours just watching the activities on the river and the river bank. Only small complaints is internet is expensive as is breakfast.

Rooms - can't complain about anything here, big windows, good size, comfy bed and new. Bathroom new with great power shower.

Reception - e-mail ahead with room request and they will do their best to act on it. Helpful with directions and local info

Boat - free boat to either Skytrain terminal or River City every 10mins or so is useful

Restaurant - ground floor, great setting - ask for a la carte menu if not keen on the £20 buffet.....very reasonable for a hotel restaurant - thai dishes at £5

Bars - Skybar on top floor - superb views of the city, live jazz music and cocktails at £6-£8 not bad for the setting. There's also a bar on the 3rd floor which doubles up as a night club....quite empty but nice for a change.

Pool - infinity pool is awesome, staff great, snacks reasonably priced

Bangkok in general -
- watch for the addition of up to 15% to any prices in menus (taxes etc)
- buy a 1 day river pass from Skytrain terminal - £2 (120baht) for unlimited rides up and down the river for the day - most sites can be visited from the river bank stations (map provided with ticket)
- taxi drivers will try and rip you off - be firm and pay no more than 500 or 600 baht for taxi from airport (depending on whether you have car or minivan) and make sure this includes the tolls and surcharge
- dont buy the concierge/travel agent tours - you can do the tour yourself for about 1/4 of the price or if you really wanted to go on an organised tour, there are booths at the Skytrain station who use the same tour companies and charge half the price
- river kwai trips - can be done yourself by going to the Nualampong train station and buying a ticket in advance (a few days notice needed) - not the most luxurious way of travelling but will cost less than £3 return

Will defintiely return to this hotel!

“Wow!”

What a start to our honeymoon! We absolutely loved this hotel. We were upgraded to an executive room which, as previous reviewers have mentioned, entitles you to food and drink throughout the day in the executive lounge which has amazing views of the city. Sipping cocktails in the 360 lounge on the floor above is a wonderful way to end a day's sight seeing too!

Its location was ideal for us - hopping on the hotel ferry to the city centre was easy and a great way to get a feel for the city. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and nothing was a problem. Little touches such as free chocolates and fruit in our room every day and free dry cleaning for 2 items per person per day made all the difference.

I would thoroughly recommend booking a treatment in the beautiful spa. One of the nicest lunches we had was in Flow on the ground floor - thai chicken soup served in a fresh coconut - yum!

We had great fun buzzing around the city in tuk-tuks. We went for dinner one night in Sirocco which is an open air restaurant on the top floor of the State Building across the river. An amazing experience - for the view if nothing else - the high price didn't reflect the quality of the food in my opinion.

If we are anywhere near Thailand on any future holidays I can safely say that we will be definitely booking into this hotel again!

Stayed plenty of time sin Bkk so decided to try over the river after advice from friends. Was a good move. Location excellent although taxi drivers don't know it well if starting from scratch. Bit of a drive from center of town and need to avoid rush hour. Otherwise access by hotel ferry to Saphan Takhsin then metro no problem or ferry across to River City and then a taxi to town avoiding bridge. River side location is great and we had an executive plus room with club facilities.room was ideal with views of river. well stocked with usual stuff and good quality bathroom items. Noticed when passing some rooms that not all had been up graded with e.g. flat screen TV. CDs on demand arived within minutes and other room service excellent. Club breakfast fine but tried even bigger selection in main area which was very good. Evening buffet (not tried) but had a look and if not eating out would have tried for range of good looking items. Club lounge comfortable with free wi fi and pleasant snacks and longish hours to 2030. Overall a nice change. Prices seem fairly competitive.

“Stylish Service, lovely hotel”

Stayed here a couple of nights on the way through. Initially concerned the hotel would be a ways from the action but the complimentary ferry gets you to and from the action.

In many ways it was nice after a hectic day to drift over to the other side and soak up at the great pool that overlooks the river.

Service excellent, rooms were in good shape and nice bathrooms. We stayed on the 11th floor in an executive room and had a nice view.

Have stayed elsewhere in Bangkok and this would be top of the list.

“Thumbs Up for Hilton Bangkok”

Stayed for 2 nights at the Hilton Bangkok in April. Joined the spouse on a business trip where we were upgraded to a suite. Room is just enormous with separate bedroom and work/living room area. Spotlessly clean, and with a fantastic sweeping view of the Chao Phraya.

Was easy to get to and from the airport as well. The highway is just a couple of turns away. The river boat shuttle was really useful in getting to the BTS station on the opposite side of the river, which links you to all the major parts of town - from Chatuchak to Siam Paragon to wherever it is you want to go.

Highly recommended hotel.
