Being our first time in Bangkok, this was a great hotel to stay in for many reasons, the location is perfect for seeing the sights and near to the skytrain for which we used many times to visit the amazing Siam centre (shopping and MBK centre for bargains). We stayed in Bangkok as a stop off to phuket and then a stop off on the way back. The first time we stayed our room was very nice and big with a seperate shower cubicle to bath, the beds were very comfortable, air conditioning was great too and clean. However the room we ere given the second time was some what smaller and the air conditioner smelt a bit and wasnt very cool. It was comfortable but we did not understand why we had been given such a smaller room when we paid the same rate either way. We ate one of the nights in the hotel and the food was average, not much selection, however we did nip over the road to the JW marriot which was an amazing hotel, a definite 5 star plus, we ate there one night in the teppanyaki restaurant which was very very nice and very recommended. The Majestic is a good business hotel with very firendly staff and great stop off point, but if you want more luxury and unique hotel then i would stay at the JW marriot, however i can imagine prices there would be higher.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during a solo visit to Bangkok; I had never stayed in the area before always staying at Koh San Road Area on my last 5 trips. This was a good hotel rooms were nice. I got the smallest room as on my own however for the little difference in cost I would go for the next size as it is a huge difference. The room was well equipped however I did not find this the best location for a solo female especially at night the street was rather dark walking back from the train station. No complaints about the hotel it is just the area for me was not suited

Paid $AU94 a night for a good quality room that was kept immaculately clean by the staff. Always felt safe in the area despite proximity to Nana. Breakfast (provided in the room rate) had plenty of variety and quality. I would stay there again without any reservation.

I stayed at the hotel with a party of lads in May 2008. For the price paid the hotel is without doubt the best value for money of any hotel I have stayed in. Around £48 for a standard double room, £60 for a deluxe - there is also the suites with separate living / bedroom areas @ £120. We had a mixture of all. The difference between the £48/£60 is the latter has a bath plus a nice LARGE shower. I recommend the latter. All the prices included breakfast (American, continental, Thai everything you name it) and the taxes. Bookings were via atsiam.com. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are very helpful. There is a bar which has a resident group that plays every night - jazz / modern plus a lobby bar. There is a modern well kitted out gym as well as a pool/Jacuzzi/steam/sauna and massage area - again all modern and clean and free to use, however the sun is lost at around 1pm behind the building. The hotel is situated on SOI 2 which is very near to Nana plaza - walking 3 mins. Also 10 mins by taxi is the MBK shopping outlet which has 7 floors of everything and a 5 screen cinema. Taxi's are cheap - always haggle - should be no more than 100/150 baht from hotel to anywhere within 15 mins ride. The hotel does accept guests and they have to sign in with an ID card but this should not put people off from staying here as I have read in other reviews. The hotel excellence outweighs any issues you have with this idea and you would not even notice anyway. As others have commented if it does offend then you should not be coming to Bangkok for a holiday in the first place. Although I did see some children at the hotel there is not much in the area for younger and older ones so this hotel is probably not suited to them. More to the 18-60 age groups. Unless you’re accustomed to the London Ritz for your standard of hotel you will not be disappointed this one and I would recommend it to anyone without hesiation.
