“Nothing wrong with it”

Ok, so the hallways smell a bit and the place is probably getting on in years, but its cheap and you get a LOT for the price.

Breakfast is awesome. The restaurant has really nice food but is a bit pricey for Thailand. The swimming pool is really nice after a long day touristing it up, and yes there is a canal running just out the back but seriously, it just smells like Bangkok. Enough said.

With a metro station just aorund the corner the place was also well located, though there weren't many choices nearby as far as eating goes but there's enough.

“Basic but Clean and Tidy”

If you are not going to spend much time in a hotel room and just want a clean bed and a bath/shower for a few nights, then this would be suitable.

Rooms have a safe, TV, hair dryer, mini bar and tea/coffee. Breakfast was OK, not outstanding, a mix of Western fare and some Asian dishes.

There is not much around the Hotel to do, but the underground station is only 40-50 meters away.

On checking in did notice slight smell coming from the nearby canal, but seem to disappear overnight, not sure if it disappear or I got use to it?

So its a very basic 3 star hotel that was clean and tidy.

Great hotel, much better than some of the reviews .Fab breakfast. Little sunbathing room around pool and lack of sun am and late pm were the only downsides.

“Cheap, Clean and very Comfortable”

Classic Place Hotel

I was really worried about staying in this hotel, after seeing all of the bad reviews about it.

However, I was really surprised what a great little hotel it actually was!

We were given a free upgrade to a suite, and it was quite big and clean.

It comprised of 2 rooms, one a large lounge room, and the other a big bedroom.

The furniture was old and basic, however the large bed was large and soft and comfortable, and the air- con was icy cold! With a big tv at the foot of your bed.

There was an inroom safe. and the bathroom had a bath and was clean and tastefully decorated.

The breakfast's were fantastic, with a huge selection and was fresh and tasty.

The hotel is very close to the subway, and was probably the best way to get around bangkok. Avoid the awful traffic jams!

We found this hotel to be a great base in bangkok, and it certainly was great value foe money as it cost us $20 AUST a night, including breakfast.

Weould definatley reccommend this hotel to families and travellers, who dont want to spend alot of money however was a clean, cool and comfortable place to use in bangkok while they see the sights over 4-5 days.

“falang ride boats ok!”

Classic Place Hotel

i have to say i've never stayed at this hotel, but i know the area very well and was completely astounded by some of the comments in the negative reviews, which make it sound like this hotel is in the midst of a desert or something.
not only is the hotel close to the subway, which is one of the gems of bkk transportation, but the boats on the canal which everyone complains about are actually commuter boats that anyone can ride! you have to walk past the pier to get to the subway, which is only a few dozen metres from the hotel to begin with. around 10 baht gives you a great ride down to pratunam, hua chang (steps from siam paragon and mbk) or even to the edge of the old city and golden mountain temple, and a great view of the back side of krung thep's sois.
i never made it to the other end, way out in the suburbs, but the couple miles i did ride was amazing.
on the pier where you catch the boats are several places serving decent food, i had a good padgrapao there, and a stellar iced coffee, all for under 2$.
if you are not interested in sampling a little thai style, then why are you here???
