Well, where to start.
The arranged Limo pick up from the airport failed to pick us up, takes 30 minutes on the phone to eventually be told we might as well 'just get a taxi'.
Finally get to the hotel and there's a constant banging noise and can hardly hear what the receptionist is saying. Get given a voucher for a meal to say sorry for the problems, the voucher was for either the Japanese or the Thai restaurant, both of which have been closed down 3 months ago, we were then told we could use the voucher in the courtyard restaurant but that closed at 6 (an hour ago).
When you first get out of the lift you see how badly this hotel needs renovating, the carpets are stained, the walls dirty and then you get into your room and again it looks like it hasn't been decorated for 20 years. The room was disgusting it hadn't been cleaned properly, the cupboards we're falling apart and the safe wouldn't shut.
When trying to complain on the phone I couldn't find anyone who understood me and when going to the reception to make a complaint I was told that the General manager was away for 3 days and could arrange for me to speak to him when he got back (this was the same person who had booked me in for 2 nights half hour previous). Upon asking who I could speak to sooner I was told the Manager was busy having dinner.
Having stupidly paid for 2 nights in advance we spent as little time as possible in the hotel, we love Bangkok and will definatly return again but not to The Landmark!
Also be aware anyone with families, the majority of The Landmarks guests are here for the seedy side of the city and the hotel turns into a brothel at night. My wife joked that maybe they hire the rooms by the hour.
