“The best relaxing luxury hotel in Asia”

Sukhothai Bangkok

I spent two nites at the Sukhotai. Am in Bangkok for business and I can only say: excellent. I travel often and I've never seen such a relaxing and beautiful luxury hotel. It is not crowded, the rooms are perfect, the service is unpeccable. There are a couple of good restaurants(italian and panasian) and some local art shops. The pool is warmed and very relaxing; I've tried the spa for an amazing 1.5h swedish massage. You have also a tennis court and a well furnished gym. There are many luxury hotel in the city, also more central -but- if you are here for business or leisure this is the perfect relaxing chateau for everyone. Limo service at affordable price from and to airport. Perfect. I will stay there more - of course.Only the internet connection fee is very high. Still is a source of money for the hotels. I hope will change soon and include on the nite rate.

“A Slice of Heaven”

Sukhothai Bangkok

5 of 5 stars
Okinawa, Japan

Our executive suite at the Sukhothai was the most beautiful hotel room I'd ever seen. It was our first time to Bangkok, and my experience with top class hotels is mostly limited to Japan, so I don't know how this compares with other Bangkok hotels.

The room was huge, the furnishings were luxurious, the bathroom was jaw-dropping, and the bed was out of this world. The breakfast was beyond compare. The lobby even smelled of flowers (in a good way!) The staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is in a nice area, near a night market and a subway stop (we didn't take the subway though).

I would definitely return, but only for a couple of nights. The prices are too high for us for a longer stay.

“An elegant, non-frenetic oasis in Bangkok”

Sukhothai Bangkok

This is a wonderful hotel in Bangkok mid-city, which has unobtrusive and pervasive good service, where the rooms are large and well-appointed, and the bathrooms luxurious .

The hotel is particularly well-managed. Compared to other Bangkok luxury hotels, I thought it represented good value.

The daily breakfast buffet is . . . something else! It offers virtually a myriad dishes, with just about all made to order, including fresh eggs, dozens of fresh tropical fruit . . . and the best still-warm pastries. I considered the Sukhotai's daily croissants, baked by the Swiss pastry chef during the night, to be superior to any I ever ate in Paris. The chocolate truffles that were left in our room every daily, were to die for.

The swimming pool is large and deep, the poolside cafe comfortable. In other words, the Sukhotai has all the elements to provide a great stay. Even its little shopping arcade is exceptional, with the Almeta silk shop at the top of the list.

The beds are particularly comfortable and large, and the rooms are fully sound-proofed.

My grandchildren - ages 10 and 14 - were also totally vowed. We stayed there over New Year's, for four nights.

“Totally Not Worth It!”

Sukhothai Bangkok

After several days traveling in the North, this hotel was supposed to be our treat. What a disappointment! They didn't have the king bed we reserved. The room is practically off a parking garage and has a dank odor. When we complained, they did nothing. The hotel is full, so we can't change rooms. So full in fact, that we can't even get a reservation at the restaurant! On this trip we also stayed at the Hilton, which was amazing. Stay there instead. For the same price as the Sukhothai we got a huge suite with amazing river views and breakfast. The Sukhothai charges ridiculous amounts for breakfast. They even charge for the Internet access. The Sukhothai is completely overrated. Avoid!

“Calm retreat in Bangok”

Lovely calm retreat from the craziness of Bangkok with a treat of a pool. Not cheap, but good value for the quality of the rooms and facilities. Well-placed for access to Bangkok's central sites, walking distance from Pat Pong and the large night markets. If that's not your scene, the hotel's own restaurants offer a sheltered respite and it's right next door to the Banyan Tree's amazing rooftop bar and restaurant.
