We spent 5 nights in a Met room at the end of December. We were greeted at the door by a guest relations officer and were escorted to the room after a quick, friendly and hassle-free check-in.

The room was spacious and very tastefully decorated. The bathroom was huge. Unfortunately, there seems to be a problem with drainage in the shower, so there is a bit of a bad smell. We kept the bathroom door shut to avoid it from spreading into the room.

We stayed in a room with a connecting door the first night. The connecting doors are not soundproff, and we ended up listening to the lady next door talking on the phone from 4:00am to 7:00am! After complaining to the front office, we were moved to a room without a connecting door. They had arranged the entire move including moving our clothes from the closet. Everything was in place when we got back in the afternoon. Great service!

Breakfast at C´yan was excellent. The Met breakfast included in the room rate consisted of a continental buffet and made to order eggs of your choice. Poached eggs florentine were delicious and beautifully presented!

Room service was quick, and the food was well prepared and reasonably priced.

We didn´t use the spa, but it looked nice. The pool area is small but nice and quiet.

Location was ok. Because of Bangkok´s horrific traffic situation, we preferred to take the BTS into town. The closest BTS station can be reached by taxi. From there it´s just a short ride into the centre (e.g. Siam). Getting a taxi back to the hotel was more difficult, as many drivers don´t want to drive to Sathorn Road due to the traffic jams.

Overall, I can recommend the Metropolitan. It´s good value for money. Service was good and always with a smile. Location could be better, but you also get to a more quiet neighborhood, which can be nice in buzzling Bangkok.

This is a lovely hotel and although we only stayed here for a night we enjoyed our stay here. The staff were lovely and in keeping with the Thai ethos we really felt welcome. They were perfectly polite and nothing was too much bother.

There’s a nice pool/spa which is an oasis in the middle of bustling Bangkok and a couple of lovely (if quiet) restaurants. There’s a very trendy (and loud) bar attached which was empty when we visited, but given the number of staff in attendance I would imagine that it probably gets very busy at some point.

Design is a feature of this hotel, but it is somewhat faded.

Unfortunately the hotel is in a very inconvenient location, - just off the *very* busy Sathorn Road. There’s no Tuk Tuk’s servicing this hotel it’s Bangkok’s excellent Taxi Service all the way. That’s fine, but we felt slightly disconnected from Bangkok.

Another slight bother, - the floors in all the rooms are wood. These look lovely and are very nice, but they also echo. We had a room with an interconnecting door to another room. When the occupants came back we could hear every single word of their adventures in Bangkok, complete with shrieks of laughter and much (ahem) intimate exchange. This was not amusing at 1am, especially when you’re struggling with jet lag.

Having said all this the hotel is really nice. We enjoyed our stay there, - just remember the less than ideal location and the possibility of late night disturbance.

I would not reccommend this hotel for families.

The hotel is in one row with the Sukhothai and Banyan Tree, with their restaurants thus also in walking distance at your pursual. We stayed in a Met room, which is considerably large with a rather minimalistic but contemporary design. The bathroom is very nice and spacious, it's only a pity they haven't installed a tropical rainshower but just a regular showerhead. The bar gets very loud at night, which you can also hear in your room......if you need quiet ask a room to the other side. Service and staff is excellent and the breakfast was good.....nice to sit outside at the pool. Very cool place to stay in Bangkok!!!

My husband and I spent our two nights here and we absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Metropolitan. I have only pleasant and nice things to say about the hotel.

We were greeted by a friendly and warm receptionist upon our arrival. The staff was nice enough to take us to our room. I was amazed with our room - Met room, it was so spacious, clean and comfortable. I am really artsy so I loved the minimalist visual effort, which was evident in all corners of the room, including the bathroom.

The breakfast was delish. I was happy to see that it was not a complete buffet (food wastage is kept at its minimal). My husband and I enjoyed the eggs benedict and ricotta pancakes.

Dinner at the Met Bar was truly a delicious treat. We had thai cuisine and it was divine. For starters, we had the green mango salad, prawn pompeo salad and chicken coconut soup. Our main courses consisted of duck in red curry, fried snapper with jasmine rice. We finished it with fried bananas with coconut ice creams. Mouth watering....

The Metropolitan is in the CBD so a lot of the touristy things are not walking distant. However, the taxi rides are not too far.

I would definitely stay here again!
