I was personally disappointed by this hotel. Despite being very empty we were given rooms overlooking the car park, so not a very pleasant view to wake up to. the rooms had no wow factor whatsoever, were dark and had scuffed wooden floors. the bathrooms were just average for a 5 * hotel, with showers over the baths.
the common hotel areas were nice and spacious and the pool very nice with lots of sunbeds around. The complimentary and very regular river boat is slow but pleasant but YES, it is quicker to take a taxi. the novelty wears off quite quickly.
The breakfast is very good, with the exception of fruit selection. the very basic and boring melon and pineapple provided.
IF you're there for a city break I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Choose one nearer the centre as its also easier to get taxis to and from the centre. Not many wanted to come to the Marrriott.
If you're there for a realxing timeand don;t wish to venture too far away, then this hotel is fine in my opinion.
