I would definitely recommend staying in Ta Shun Hotel. I stayed here for 2 nights & the room I got was very nice & clean, had a flat screen tv with cable, a spa-type shower , a comfy bed & all the necessary toiletries. All this for only NT1080. It's conveniently located right in Ximenting around the corner from the Red Theater & the Ximen MRT Exit 1 stop. The service was excellent (thanks to Conney & her staff). I remember having to tell them I was going to miss breakfast because I had an early flight to catch. They were nice enough to offer to at least prepare some toast for me =P I'd definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the TS Hotel in September 2007 for 4 nights and we were very satisfied with our stay. We found the rooms to be very clean and equipped with every convenience. Every room came with a flatscreen LCD TV (of course, since this IS Taiwan) with cable, a refrigerator, a hot water heater for tea, and a free high speed internet connection. Best of all, the location one block from the Ximen MRT stop could not be beat.

The bathroom was spotless, and every room has a spa shower. The room charge includes free breakfast every morning in the dining room off the lobby. Breakfast consisted of a small buffet with rice porridge and side dishes, in addition to toast, jam, and butter. There is a convenience store practically across the street, and the hotel is literally 1.5 blocks away from the Ximending pedestrian area.

Overall, we were pleased with our stay here. The hotel was clean, the staff was helpful and polite, the price was right, and the location was extremely convenient.

This is a clean, budget-priced hotel, very near to the Ximen subway line. Its location is great for exploring Taipei. The staff is friendly.

This hotel seems to lean more towards the family-friendly hotel side, rather than the love hotel side, unlike other hotels in the Ximen area. (There is a softcore adult movie channel, however, but most other hotels in this area have hardcore porn channels, which might bring an unpleasant surprise to many travellers, especially those with children.)

The room was large and clean and stocked with amenites such as soap, shower, razor, etc. The only drawbacks seem to be no view, a ceiling that needed a paint job and a lackluster breakfast. (Starbucks is not far away, however.)

Stay here and enjoy Taipei and save some money as well.

We booked 2 doubles and 1 twin from 1-9th Sept 2007.

Their promo rates are: NT$1680 for a double and NT$2280 for a twin room. Boy, it's cheap! And breakfast is provided daily as well. You can take the Freego bus as it drops you right outside the hotel. Same goes when you need to go to the airport.

It's only a minute's walk to the bustling Ximending and the Ximen station (one stop away from the Taipei main station). That makes travelling extremely easy at the same time we're away from the hustle and bustle when we retire at night.

I must say the rooms are modern, relatively new and are very clean but no windows in some due to the building structure but we're fine with it. The shower is fine and water pressure good. Towels changed and room made daily, we come back to a friendly and helpful reception. And of course, there's a pretty LCD TV in the room and you can enjoy free internet access in your own room via lan cable.

Just across the road is a 24hr kiosk for drinks and snacks.

I can't ask for more for the price that I'm paying!
