“Great Little Place To Stay in Augusta”

West Bank Inn

I was a little hesitant to book such a low priced room. I've had bad experiences with budget hotels in the past, but this place is nice, clean, comfortable, and has many amenities of a more expensive lodging choice. The people at the front desk greated me with a smile and offered help with the Augusta area. The room was spacious, clean and had a coffee maker, refrig, microwave and nice size TV. Heater and AC worked fine, and convenient that I could park right outside my room for easy loading and unloading. Nice breakfast included with a choice of toast, bagels, doughnuts, egg, cereal, coffee, and juice. Great location off the interstate but quiet and across from McDonalds, with other restaurant options down the road. Will definately visit this little charmer again if I'm in the Augusta area.

“Great little place for the money”

This is a great place to stay if you need a place to catch a night's sleep. Clean, neat, with a friendly and helpful staff. Nothing fancy--but it's a good deal for the price. It's convenient to the interstate exit, and there are several eating places nearby. We stayed here on the way to Charleston---needed to break the trip up due to a late afternoon start from Nashville. Would definitely stay here again.

“Recommeded unless you are a light sleeper”

I booked a room here 12/22/07 and again a week later on the return trip back home. The hotel is extremely clean as stated in other reviews and why I booked here initially. The breakfast on the first stay had frozen sausage biscuits and a microwave for heating them up, hard boiled eggs, fresh bananas, packaged oatmeal, packaged grits, fresh kripsy kreme doughnuts from the KK next door, bagels and butter/cream cheese, cold cereal, milk, orange juice, coffee, and a couple of cakes/pastries. The return trip had the same items but the sausage biscuits were missing this time. Pretty good selection in my book this grade of hotel. As my subject states I would highly recommend the hotel unless you are a light sleeper. The hotel sits between a major 4 lane road and a moderately busy road. The first stay we were awakened a couple of times by sirens in the middle of the night and just figured it was a sporadic occurance, but the same thing happened a week later. Other than that, great place to stay.

“What a great value!”

Because of the previous good reviews, we chose to stay here for one night on the way to Charleston. We paid $49.95 for a double and were not disappointed. This is an older property, but it truly had everything we needed. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom, a microwave and refrigerator, a coffee maker, a table with two chairs, and a decent-sized TV with cable and lots of channels. The dresser had plenty of drawer space. The room and bathroom were scrupulously clean. Even the grout on the bathroom floor was shiny. Check in was fast, easy and friendly.

The location was fantastic for eating out. Just across the street we found a Bonefish Grill, Outback Steakhouse and an Asian restaurant. Next door is McDonalds. Also, the hotel is only a few seconds from the highway exit, yet I heard no traffic noise (I am sensitive to noise and light at night). With the drapes closed, the room was completely dark at night. The hotel seemed full, but we never heard any noises above us or next to us.

I must disagree with the previous post about one item - the breakfast. For the price, I expected just a few pastries. But there was fresh fruit, 5 or 6 different kinds of cereal, a good selection of delicous fresh bagels (and a toaster!) with cream cheese, all the different flavors of oatmeal packets, muffins, juice and more. You would have to be awfully picky to not enjoy their offerings.

The ice machine was located outside a few doors down, and we had to insert our electronic hotel key to use it. You are limited to one or two buckets (can't remember which), but it was enough to keep our food in the cooler cold for the trip the next day.

We would gladly stay here again. It is not a luxury hotel, but we were completely pleased with our stay.

Very reasonably priced and clean...very clean. Not a great breakfast so make sure that you don't rely on getting full there.
