“Perfect!”

Atlanta Marriott Alpharetta

Mar 16, 2008

I left a review of this property a little more than a year ago. It was a great hotel then and remains a great place to stay.

I booked this hotel for $71/nt. from a Marriott e-breaks weekend offer. The purpose of this trip was to do some shopping and since I was familiar with the area I knew all the stores I wanted to shop were nearby. Northpointe Mall is a short distance away. Additionally, there are multiple movie theaters, good restaurants, and many shopping options (Barnes & Noble, Crate and Barrel, Home Goods, Toys-R-Us, Macy's furniture outlet, Paper Affair, Target, Talbots, etc.) Most of the shops are relatively new.

The hotel itself is wonderful. The parking is free unlike many hotels of this caliber in and around Atlanta. Georgia 400 is a toll road that connects to Buckhead so all of the shopping of that area is conveniently down the road--if you are planning a major shopping excursion to Atlanta this is a hotel to consider.

For this trip I stopped at Whole Foods and took take-out back to the room to eat. I had requested a refrigerator and it was in the room upon my arrival. I had a bubble bath in the tub. The bathroom is spacious with nice amenities.

The room is also spacious with an easy chair and ottoman, a desk with a rolling table (moves perfectly to the end of the bed so you can sit there and watch tv and eat if you like).

My room looked out over the interstate so the view was not spectacular but there was no noise from the interstate, neither did I hear any noise from the hallway or neighboring rooms. I found everything in the room to be in working order and the room was very clean.

I ordered room service for breakfast and it was delivered on time and at the right temperature. The food was well-made and delicious--absolutely no complaints.

Check-in and check-out were fast and efficient. The staff was friendly and helpful.

There is a small store downstairs and there is an indoor pool. I saw a family enjoying themselves there when I walked by the area. There are free newspapers in the lobby and there are sitting areas in the lobby. I did not visit the onsite bar or restaurant.

This hotel is adjacent to an office complex so there really aren't shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. If you leave the hotel and continue straight from the office complex rather than going back to the 400 exit you will travel by the mall and other shopping areas.

I highly recommend this property.

My family stayed here for a night while in the atlanta area and found this hotel to be excellent. The interior is beautiful, the beds were extremely comfortable, room service was excellent, overall great value. I've stayed at many Marriotts and this one was one of my top 3.

Stayed for 3 nights mid July on business. Location is the best, with very easy access from the 400 and loads of parking space. The lobby is palatial and check-in was simplicity itself. The room was spotless and ticked all the boxes once I'd walked along seemingly miles of corridors; the view from the 2nd floor was over a roof & vents but this didn't matter for a business trip.
The bar conveniently offered good food & drink until late, but was perhaps a little small & cramped for the size of the hotel. However, the bar staff were attentive and we didn't go thirsty!
Breakfast was a little over-formal and disappointing for the money, and whilst the dinner menu was good the restaurant was empty so there was little atmosphere, thus we also ate out.
All in all it's relatively expensive but much better than the local alternatives at which I've stayed on occasions and is just so convenient.

“Nice hotel to stay in”

My husband and I just got back from a weekend in Alpharetta where we were attending a family function. I found this hotel online and it was an excellent choice. The rooms were bright and sunny and very clean. Bathroom was also very clean and spacious. Parking was right in front of the hotel and the Sunday buffet breakfast was very good.

This hotel is conveniently located right off GA 400, but web directions into the property were a little confusing. You may want to call the hotel for better directions. Staff was extremely helpful with any kind of directions needed into downtown Atlanta. To get around this part of the city, a rental car is a must.

The only thing I can say is to make sure where in Alpharetta you want to stay. The family functions we were attending were two exits away which were also exits for Alpharetta. Alpharetta is very big and spread out and very confusing to get around at first. But, this turned out to be an excellent choice for a weekend stay and close to all major roads and hiways. Even though it was further away, it was still easy to get around once we mastered the maps.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Clean and bright rooms, and right off major hiway making it easier to get to planned events
    • Disliked — Nothing comes to mind. Everything was just fine for what we were looking for.

“Dec 27- Dec 30 Great Hotel!!”

Atlanta Marriott Alpharetta

We are from Tampa, FL and visit Atlanta often. We debated staying in Alpharetta due to the distance away from Atlanta. Being right off of GA 400 this hotel is quite a drive from downtown Atlanta however close to the North Point Mall and several restaurants. We visited Lake Lanier Islands and the N Georgia Premium outlets which were only about 30 minutes away. Our last stay in downtown Atlanta at the Marriott Marquis 8/2006 was dreadful. The Marriott Alpharetta was simply a flawless stay. Downtown Atlanta doesn't have much to offer at night, other than Hard Rock Cafe and who wants to hassle with valet parking. The Marriott Alpharetta however offers free self parking. The hotel exceeded our expectations. We booked a King Room with breakfast included (either in room or hotel restaurant) through Marriott.com. Being Marriott Rewards/Elite Members we expect each stay to be perfect which this one was. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. Overall, very nice hotel, clean rooms and a very comfortable bed.
