“Great Hotel and Location”

We stayed at HOJO for 2days. The location is really great. Its 12 min walk to Disneyland and Ca. Adventure main gates. The hotel and rooms are clean, with the exception of one of the room sink faucet. That faucet had some corrosion where the water comes out. The beds and pillows are comfortable. We stayed in building 2 near the freeway and we did not hear any car noise inside the rooms. The employees are very helpful and friendly. When I was checking out I had a problem with the bill and they fix it right away.

There is a restaurant across the street called Mimi's. Also there are McD's, IHOP, Denny's, etc. just about 8 min walk from hotel down the street.

We arrived at the HOJO at about 12:30pm. Knowing the hotel was full I wasn’t expecting our rooms to be ready, but too our surprise they were. We were in building 6 on the top floor ( 2nd floor ) with 2 queen adjoining rooms ( with my parents ). The rooms were larger than I expected and very bright and clean. Along the wall opposite of the beds was the T.V. , a desk and a long counter too sit our luggage, also closet space right near the door. There was room to eat breakfast at the desk and there was a table next to the beds also. We were pleased to have a safe in our room, which we used to store our passports and extra money. There was a small fridge which we also used which worked good, but my dad had problems keeping his at the right temp. I took a look at it and it was a different model than what we had. We never heard any noise from our room other than the odd sirens going by. Being on the top floor we had the high ceiling with the large windows at both ends that have no blinds. It made the room feel bigger and brighter and the light coming in the morning didn’t bother us at all, and was actually nice since we wanted to get up early everyday anyways. House cleaning did a great job each day, and were always done before we came back to the rooms for an afternoon swim. The pool was perfect for the kids with a max depth of 5 feet I believe. The pool was never busy at the times we used it except for one day which I counted about 20 people in it. The new Sprayground ( The old Main Pool ) was close to completion when we were there. It looks great and kids will love that area. It should be open sometime In July by the looks of it. We watched the fireworks from the hotel all but 1 night. If you have a room with no view they can be viewed from the parking lot or the new SprayGround area. The walk to Disneyland was easy and took 5-10 minutes depending how fast we went. The day we got there I went to the Grocery Store with my parents, while we were gone my youngest daughter locked the bathroom door after coming out and my wife couldn’t get back in. She called the front desk and they were up within minutes to open it. There always seemed to be a lot of staff on, even at night I always saw a few people at the desk when I was using the computer. All the staff were very friendly and were ready to help at anytime. We got dropped off by taxi with our groceries and someone came out to help us to our room. There are 2 computers in the lobby with internet that can be used free of charge, which was great as I used them to view and edit my photopass pictures. There is an arcade with lots of games to play and across from there is the Gift Shop with lots of snacks and cheap ( cheaper than Disney ) gifts to take home. There is also a free newspaper that I picked up every morning from the gift shop. The grounds were beautiful with lots trees, flowers and fountains. Mimi’s Restaurant had good food, prices and service. Go early or later as it does get busy at lunch time and dinner time.
Being one of the cheaper hotels on the main strip, I was very impressed and will stay there the next time we go.

“Great disneyland trip”

Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel - Anaheim

This was our first trip to Disneyland, so we had no idea of what hotel to choose. We were very happy with Howard Johnson. The rooms were adaquate. Nothing special, but they were clean. The landscaping at the hotel was beautiful and the hotel seemed to be very well kept up. The staff was very helpful and always friendly. I read other reviews complaining about the noise from the highway, but I asked for a quiet room and they put us in building 2, and it was always quiet. Also, it is close enough to walk to disneyland, which is a definite plus.

“Very Nice, Polite Staff, Clean Quiet rooms with a great view......”

We stayed here for a weekend in May 2008.

We made our reservations online and then a few days later we decided to upgrade to a nicer room with a view, After calling them they were very helpful to explain all of of options and prices. After telling them I saw a discount offer on AAA they gave me the discount and upgraded me to a room with a view of Disneyland.

When we arrived Friday afternoon the lobby was not busy, we were able to check right in, they had everything ready for us. We made our way to our room on a upper floor, opened the window and Poof! there it was, Disneyland! Wow a great view, Big quiet room, it was very nice, we were quite happy. we rested up for a few, and walked across the street for a early dinner. Disneyland entrance is right across the street, along with many restaurants. This was nice because of Gas prices, I was happy I didn't have to drive around town everything you need is within a few minute walk.

I think this is where I will be staying on our next trip.

“Close Second to Disney Properties!”

Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel - Anaheim

Jun 23, 2008

First let me say that whenever we come to the Anaheim area, if we can't stay at the Disneyland Hotel, we always stay at the Howard Johnson. It's a very large hotel that is set up in multiple buildings spanning over an acre. They have a wonderful pool in the rear of the property and opening this summer a pirate themed "water park" which we can't wait to see. The rooms have been recently upgraded and the new pillowtop mattresses were absoloutly heavenly! We had a fridge and microwave in our room which came in handy when I was preparing bottles at 2am. :) We had a nice sized balcony overlooking the monorail which was really nice because we'd make coffee in the morning and sit out on the balcony before heading over to the parks for the day while the little one was still resting. They have a very large gift shop that had a wide selection of affordably priced items, including ice creams! After a long day at DL we would buy Ice Creams to enjoy back in our room. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful in suggesting a place for dinner offsite. We look forward to our next stay at the Howard Johnson in December! Thanks, and keep up the wonderful service you guys provide at the Howard Johnson!
