“Decent stay”

We (couple in our 20's) stayed at Dolphin's Cove for a week in June '08, using timeshare points my parents were unable to use this year.

We were skeptical and our expectations were quite low after reading reviews. Our stay however was pretty good and we didn't run into any of the issues others have had. Our 1 BR unit was quite large and spacious for the two of us. Rooms and bathroom were clean and we had no issues with the housekeeping/cleaning staff. Pool was a good place to relax. (If you don't have kids with you, it's best to visit mid-morning when the pool isn't so crowded with kids.)

Overal we got what we expected and maybe more since our expectations were so low.

Still mid stay and having some issues. We have a 2 room unit for my parents, us and our child. I may be spoiled, by previous stays at Fairfield/ Wyndham Resorts, but compared to the other resorts, this is a big disappointment. The unit was smaller then we were use to an only had one bathroom for the 5 of us. There were ants in the main bed room, a TV in the living room that whined terribly when powered on, and a leaky A/C unit. There is actually rust stains on the wall where the A/C unit leaks water, down to the carpet (which is not completely fitted to the room so there is a half inch gap between the carpet and wall). Because of the moisture there is mold or something growing in the corner of the room. There is no vent in the bathroom so again, there is an awful moisture problem there too, especially by what barely passes for a window above the shower. I didn't inspect it closely, but it looked black and slimy from the floor. Storage is non existant for food and the like, and the ice machines were constantly out of ice. Oh, and the 2 bar stools were about a foot too short for the breakfast bar.

WiFi is advertised to be charged $5 an hour,or $10 a day or $30 a week, which is outragaous since this is provided free of charge at so many lesser places. This turned out to be untrue though and was available free. Not before I suffered for half a day with dial-up checking my work e-mails.

The grounds are nice, and the grills provided are top noch. The pool was clean and staff friendly. The club house is clean, and the kids club house even better then the main club house. If the rooms were renovated, I think this would be a 4 to 5 star review, but all the little things add up for the quality that we have come to expect.

If you are looking for a resort that is close to the Disneyland Resort, but in the nieghborhood The Dolphin's Cove is the right place. We book with our timeshare due to location and the amenities it offered. It is walking distance to local restaurants and the Disneyland Park, but you would need a car for grocery shopping or if too tired.

Our unit was a 1 bedroom deluxe with a balcony, but on the first floor. The room was clean and somewhat nicely decorated, yet needed some remodeling.
The property was kept clean, landscape trimmed, lobby, pool, workout unit and laundry room were on site and clean as well. A very peaceful resort. Would return again with family.

“Anaheim's Dolphin Cove Resort poor experience”

Dolphin's Cove Resort

We booked a week at Dolphin Cover Resort to take our grand daughter to Disneyland. The resort pool was shut down for 3 days for emergency maintenance. Hot water for showers was non existant on some days. "Out of Order" signs were on washers, dryers, ice machines, computers, and more. The only service was a change of towels and garbage removed twice in a week. The fold out bed was old and very uncomfortable for my daughter and grand daughter to sleep on. The room had fans that barely stayed attached to the ceilings. The resort, room and pool area were not very clean. Although quiet time was listed there was a party outside in the courtyard that was loud and lasted until well after midnight. It would have been useless to complain as it was attended by the members of the resort staff. The overall experience was poor and I would never go there again.

second time we have stayed there , 1st time couldnt fault it we had a suite this time we were given a studio and in comparison was really dissappointed with it . Beds were uncomfortable and dishes were not really clean . The cost of the internet service was very expensive seeing we had stayed in Super 8 few days earlier and internet was free.
