“Convenient and comfortable”

The hotel was close enough to Dupont Circle, a ten minute walk. Safe neighborhood. Attendent concierge. Tasty room service (thought the deliverer stayed for ten minutes to set up the table...little awkward).

“Out of Date, Out of Time”

This hotel is beyond salvation! The housekeeping cannot keep up, the rooms are small and old-fashioned, the rates are very poor value. Overall, an unpleasant, over-priced experience.

Some of the many irritations:

After paying $270+tax for my room on the "executive" 10th floor, I did not expect to find a 1950s-style large portable fan on the floor.

I also had to pay another $30 for three days of internet access in my room. What exactly does "executive" mean if it does not include free internet access in the room?

The 10th floor had a "lounge" that consisted of randomly arranged chairs and tables with minimal amenities. The lounge does provide free internet access, but it closes at 10:30pm. Us "executives" must not have any work late at night while on a business trip.

In the morning, I could never get hot water from the tap (neither the sink, nor the shower), except after running the water for literally 20 minutes.

The central air-conditioning system in the room was as noisy as a the engine of a 1960s Soviet-era Trabant.

The bathroom was absolutely tiny.

All in all, there are many other options in DC that offer much better value, so I will be trying to stay away from this Hilton in the future.

“Great concierge service”

Hilton Washington

We booked three rooms on the concierge floor at the Hilton on Connecticut. We also had other family members coming in during our 6 night stay at the Hilton on Connecticut to attend our small family wedding. I encountered a problem with the hot water supply (this is the second time I have stayed here and had the same problem) and the front desk does not really care much about the problem. They only offered to move us to a much smaller room.
On a positive note Mr. Cantelyy on the concierge floor found out about our wedding and had some wine, cheese etc. sent up to our room. He made our stay special at the Hilton. Every day the employees on that floor were so nice. It is really worth the extra money for the breakfast and hot snacks in the evenings. I recommend if you stay here book on the executive floor.

“Horrible”

Hilton Washington

As a pilot I travel the whole world and spent nearly half of my life in hotels. Unfortunately this hotel is our crewhotel in Washington. I spent 2 nights at this hotel over New Year´s Eve. As I was working during the holidays I took my girlfriend along and asked for a King size bed 2 days before arriving. As a HH Gold VIP Member I should have gotten an upgrade anyway. Arriving at the hotel I was neither given the requested room nor an upgrade. After discussing for 15 min with the "not Hilton style" personnel I was given the requested room which was even on the executive floor. I was very thankful. Now for the room: small, very old, 60s style and the bathroom was dirty, too small for 2 and some towels had brown stains all over. The rest of the hotel is the same 60s style but at least clean. I don´t know what my airline paid for that stay but I wouldn´t have paid more than 60 $ for this room!

“Not worth it!”

Hilton Washington

2 of 5 stars
San Francisco
Dec 28, 2007

Disappointing. Rooms were small and dingy.

There was hardly any sound proofing, and I was up all night due to snoring in the room next to me. The staff was quite rude. I was at a convention in the hotel so this was the only reason I stayed here. but never would again.
