Stopped here Oct 6-9 with 3 mates. We had 2 twin rooms.

We paid about £50 each for the 3 nights.

I can't tell you what breakfast was like as I never made it.

Location is a 2 min walk to the bus/train station although that area was a bit dodgy. It was an approx 10-15 minute walk to the Cathedral Square.

The rooms were very clean, ample in size and modern.

The hotel staff were very polite and also attractive !

I'd stay there again.

saturday august 2006
at my arrival they checked my papers and voucher, just like it was the first time that they had prepaid hotel vouchers. then told me that they could not find the reservation, in the meantime two other new guests with internet-vouchers came standing next to me. manager came, and said that they have had internet problems, and thats why they made some overbookings, but they had another hotel nearby. so they drive us to another hotel of even less value, with a room with tiny singlebeds, but I could return without extra charge.... the next day to the initial hotel.
next morning when checking out, I ask for a taxi or a ride to my original hotel, was initially refused, but after a phonecall to the original hotel, I was picked up 15 minutes afterwards.
Up till now, I kept telling them no problem, these things happen etc., so I managed to get a friendly compensation of getting the best room available in the Hotel, which for what I paid was good. next day they "forgot" to clean my room, so I did not have any towels left. went to the reception at about 24.00 H. to ask for some towels, and he said, "we will punish somebody for this" I said no need just bring me some towels. he promises that they will bring them up Inmediately.... but he must have forgotten as they did not come. anyway next morning The problem is solved. then the Restaurant, it is ok, good starters but do not order red meat there if you want your steak rose or red inside. (by the way a day earlier in one of the best restaurants of Vilnius they also overcooked my steak, so its probably normal in Lithuania) I order my steak rare, and just to express myselve some more I told them that i would like to see some blood in it. guess what i get my steak overover done, I tell the nice waitress, that I had ordered rare with blood inside (first official little complaint from my side) and she could not other than agree, and told me that she was going to go to the kitchen and order a new one. the next one is more or less ok, but they must have reminded my sentence that I wanted to see red, as they litteraly bathed it in Ketchup. anyway I tried to explain them that if they continue like this the MC-Donalds on the other side of the road would be very happy, (and the many Cjili pizza restaurants as well) They give me a discount of 10% and their apologies (I was not looking for discounts as prices are very low, just wanted to have them improve quality) last day before leaving to the airport (ah ok, another day without cleaning the room, but as I had been given a spare towel preferred not even to mention it as they probably would beat some poor girl up for that.) I punish myselve ordering meat again (i hate the food on the plane, so I prefer normally to eat beforehand) same waitress, I tell her to alert the chef that my meat should be red inside, but either my english is too poor, or the chef has his own manners, as it came overcooked at my table....

conclusion, its a pretty cheap hotel, with potential to become a good value for money place. nice views from 4th and 5th floor and if you go there dont argue with them, but try to help them improve the service, and state your food wishes very very clear, and you'll probably have a nice stay in a very nice city.

“Problems with hotel Panorama in Vilnius”

Hotel Panorama

We stayed there between Monday and Friday. When we arrived, the check-in took almost 30 minutes per person. The hotel was situated quite poorly, the neigborhood was in awful condition and in the evening it seemed dangerous (so it is NOT in the old town). The website tells that the hotel is renovated, but everything in the hotel was still under construction.

Our room was stinky and they cleaned it only after three requests (on Wednesday morning when I finally lost my nerves) - I think that was really their policy. Moreover, they asked people to pay in advance. I have never seen a hotel before which asks people to pay in advance.

But if you look for a quite cheap stay and don't mind about weird smells and rubbish service and nights when car alarms and construction workers make noise, choose this one.

Been there - won't go near it anymore!

“Good Economy Hotel”

The rooms are spartan but clean, a good budget hotel. Close to the train station and a short walk from the centre of old town.

Incidentially has a lapdancing club in the basement of the hotel, a fact not widely made known!
