My wife and I stayed at the Qubus Hotel for 4 nights. The hotel was Excellent, Friendly staff, Rooms very clean and comfortable. Top floor of hotel has pool and Jacuzzi, These where a bit on the small side but still done the job. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice as was the hotel Bar although this was a bit more expensive than the bars in town.
The location is just over the water from the old Jewish area about 5 mins walk and only about 15 mins walk from the Palace and the old town centre. I would highly recommend this hotel as I would Krakow itself.

Had a 3 night stay at the Hotel Qubus could not fault anything about it.The twin room was really well furnished and the bathroom was lovely. The hotel staff could not do enough to help you the hotel bar was a lovely place to chill out after a day sight seeing.Booked trips to Auswich and the salt mines not to be missed.I can't believe the value for money this hotel offers if anyone is thinking about visiting Krakow you will not be disappointed by any of the facilities that this hotel offers. The buffet breakfast was amazing never had time to test the gym or swimming pool but i believe they are equally good.Hope you enjoy your stay as much as i did

“Great Hotel”

Qubus Hotel Krakow

5 of 5 stars
London
Feb 4, 2008

I stayed in the Qubus from 31st January to 4th February. There is not much more I can add that others havn`t previously mentioned.

For the price you are paying the value is superb, and you have to remember that you get free internet in the lobby, free bottles of water left in your room, free useage of pool, jacuzi, steam room, sauna and fitness suite as well as one the best breakfast spreads that I have seen in a hotel.

We used their cabs to take us to Aushwitz and the Salt mines and I used them to take me back to the airport. I thought they were pretty good value for money and very efficient. Its my impression that people get so used to the "cheapness" of the country that they forget they are paying peoples wages, and then get all stingy when asked to pay £20 for a cab ride when you would pay £40 or £50 in the UK.

The only slight critisism I would have is that the staff are very laid back, in fact extremley laid back. This can come across as lazy and rude but it is not. I`m sure that some good old public relations training would sort this out.

A spotlessly clean hotel, a short distance away from the centre which is exceptional value for money. I highly recommend.

“Very Pleasant Stay”

Qubus Hotel Krakow

5 of 5 stars
Edinburgh

We stayed for two nights between 29th and 31st Jan. Getting from the airport is really easy. We got the train from the airport into Krakow and caught a taxi from there to the hotel. I'd say it probably took us no more than half an hour to get to the hotel from the airport. On arrival the staff were pleasant and within a few minutes we were in our room. The hotel is very attractive to look at and very clean. The room was small but very comfortable. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant - the food was excellent and I think it cost approx £40 for two starters and main courses so good value also. There is an adjacent piano bar which is busier early in the evening but very quiet after say 9am. If you are looking for a wild night out this is not the place but its pleasant for a quiet drink. You can also have a drink in the hotel reception area. The hotel is situated about 2KM from the main Krakow attractions. Taxis are very cheap to get there or it will take you about 20 mins or so to walk. Krakow is a beautiful city - very laid back and its great just to stroll around and soak in the atmosphere. The buffet breakfast at the hotel was excellent with everything from sausage and bacon to smoked salmon and fruit. Beware of the toaster however - it takes forever!! The sixth floor of the hotel hosts the fitness room, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. It is fantastic!!! As well as these good facilities you are also treated to a stunning view across the Krakow rooftops. Go before sunfall though - the view is brilliant. Krakow isnt the most lit up city at night so the view isnt that great later on. We had the entire pool and jacuzzi area to ourselves in the late afternoon and this was by far the most enjoyable thing about being in the hotel. Getting a taxi from the hotel to the airport will set you back about £15 so fairly expensive for the distance you are going. Might be better to get your taxi elsewhere. The only one niggle we had about the hotel was when leaving they tried to charge us for carpet damage. We had noticed when we arrived that there was a small mark on the carpet in our room but it had been there when we arrived. I refused to pay but it remains to be seen whether they will charge my credit card. It would be very disappointing if they did as everything else about our stay was brilliant. I would definately recommend this hotel if you are visiting Krakow.

“Great hotel...BUT”

Qubus Hotel Krakow

2 of 5 stars
Newcastle

Got back from the Qubus on Monday 28th Jan. Firstly I must say that the hotel was first class for cleanliness, facilities and food and that is the reason I can still give it a rating of 2 after the ridiculous trouble we had.
It started when the taxi which we ordered through the hotel not only didn't come to pick us up at the airport but as we later found out had not even been booked by the hotel even after an email confirming the contrary. When I rang the hotel from the airport I was told "Well you might as well go to the taxi rank in the airport and get one from there" by the ever so helpful girl on the desk.
When we arrived at the desk the girl first blamed Outlook Express not working properly for the taxi not being booked, but then when she opened a file in front of her the top email on the pile was ours ordering a taxi and requesting a no smoking room. The girl then proceeded to blame another member of staff, who was new, for not passing on the message.
We were then asked if we had booked a double room. Yes we said. After another few minutes of tapping keys on her keyboard the girl came out with this little gem. "You can have room 219, but don't worry because you can swap it first thing in the morning". After we asked why we would need to swap rooms we were told that this room was on the 2nd floor which was the conference floor. No problem for us there, we thought. She had missed out one slight piece of information. At 2am, with the music from the disco playing in our ears I rang reception from our room to see what time the music would be stopping and was told that we couldn't be told as it wasn't booked for a specific amount of time but that we could move rooms now if we wanted. I told the girl that seeing as it was now after 2am we didn't really feel like packing our stuff up again and moving rooms, then I put the phone down and returned to our own private little nightclub.
Before breakfast the next morning we went to the reception and were told that they had a room available for us and would we like to check it out. We set off for room 633. On our arrival at this room we thought we could smell smoke in the room when we entered but the man on the desk had assured us that this was a non smoking room so we dropped of our bags and set off for breakfast. After breakfast we returned to 633, which still had a smell of smoke in it. However it wasn't until we seen the ashtray with ash still in it that we set off back down to reception. "Room 633 is definitely a non smoking room" said one member of staff. " No its not all the 6th floor is smoking" said another. "No room 633 isn't" replied the first. It was then that we intervened explaining that if the smell of smoke didn't give it away then surely the unemptied ashtray was a big clue.
Without the mystery being fully resolved we were offered room 716. Our 3rd room and we hadn't been there 24hrs yet. After checking out a smoke free room we headed back to 633 to pick up our restless luggage, only to find that the card keys we had for this room had been de-activated so we couldn't get our bags from room 2 to room 3. It was at this point that my patience ran out and I gave the 'its a non smoking room' reception man a piece of my mind along with a piece of a few other things as well.
Eventually we settled into room 716 with our luggage and without any ashtrays. It hardly seems worth mentioning that this room didn't have the internet access that all the other rooms had after all it wouldn't have been right to complain.
It was only on our last day that I read in the information pamphlet in the room that the hotel unbelievably had a silence policy between...wait for it....10pm and 7am. Fortunately I had calmed down by now or else I would have blown my top.
PS The taxi that the hotel booked us to go back to the airport turned up. What a lovely journey it was to finally be driving away from the Qubus.
