“Great Stay”

We stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely time. We were in room 11 which is the only room on the ground floor. Decided on that room since the pension doesn't have a lift and we didn't want to drag our luggages up the stairs. It was the cheapest room (the price increases as you go higher) but it was great, big and clean. First time ever that the actual room looks better than the photo on the website, especially the bathroom!

There were slight noise disturbances through the night but those did not go on for too long. We had a chance to check out the other rooms as we got friendly with the other guests and the worse room is Room 32 on the 3rd floor, which was very small. Overall, it was run very professionally, despite the reception being located away from the Pension. But it was a mere 2 minutes walk away. Another BIG plus was they provided a computer with 24 hours internet access in the breakfast room (accessable 24 hours). As for printing of documents I got it done at the reception (travel agency) free of charge!

The only negative thing I can think of was the absence of telephone in the room and there was no shampoo.

“Great Location. Reasonably Priced. Occasional Noise.”

We stayed at Borsove for 4 nights (9/28 - 10/2). The pension is at the quiet part of Old Town, but within walking distance to everywhere (Old Town Square, Castle, Mala Strana, etc.)

We stayed at Room #31. It is clean, cozy and safe. We paid about US$110 per night. The price would have been cheaper if the US dollar did not depreciate so much so fast... Breakfast is decent (boiled eggs, bread, juice, coffee, teas, cereal, etc.) and is included in the room cost.

As previous travellers mentioned, if you stay for 3 nights or more, you get a free airport pick up, which cost about 700 crown by taxi.

The hotel service office is just around the corner. The staff there are helpful and you can store your luggages there if your plane/train doesn't leave until later.

Two minor things. Our room is supposed to be non-smoking, however, there is a strong smoke smell in the room. The office offers to change us to somewhere else, but we decided to stay b/c its great location. But we had to leave the window open during the day. For a couple of nights, we were woken up by the noise from people exiting the bar next door. It was about 12:30 - 1 and didn't last too long.

Overall, this is a good place to stay

“Great Location, but terrible noise”

Borsov Pension

Sep 13, 2007

We just came back from 3 nights at the Borsov. The location was great considering the price. Everything was within walking distance. The MAJOR problem was the noise. We were in room #31 facing the street. The street, although a side street, was between the bars and public transportation. We were there over the weekend and the noise from the druken men (and women) was VERY LOUD. Perhaps other rooms weren't as noisy. The room itself was very big and everything was new. The bathroom had all new fixtures and worked great. There was satellite TV, a mini-fridge and a safe deposit box in the room. It was a little odd to have no one in the place (i.e. the house has 5 guest rooms and that's it, no one there to help you with questions). Trying to pick up the keys was a little odd, since they are in a different building around the corner (so make sure you get GOOD directions before you go).

We stayed at the Borsov for five nights which allowed us free transportation upon our arrival. Sure enough, the driver was at the train station waiting for us and brought us straight to the check-in office, so we didn't have to worry about finding the place or having local currency to pay him. What a fabulous location. The Borsov is just a stone's throw from the Charles Bridge, Old Town, and numerous places to eat, drink, and shop. The B&B is neat and clean, the breakfast is cold but satisfying, the bathroom is modern, and the towels are changed daily. We especially appreciated the free Internet access set up in the breakfast room. There was some street noise, but we thought that was a small price to pay for such an otherwise perfect place to stay.

A great location, only 2 minutes walk from the Charles Bridge.
The place is really modern, clean and bright and it is a nice place to return to after a days sightseeing.
It has a small breakfast room with a free buffet breakfast and free internet.
We used the free taxi service from the airport, which is brilliant. They were waiting for us when we came into arrivals, and they also have an English speaking office in the airport.
We paid for the return trip to the airport, and this is also recommended, as their office and pick up point in Prague is at the end of the street.
