Stayed at Andel's Prague for 3 nights in March 2008. Perhaps I was expecting too much based on all the glowing reviews I had read about the hotel before our stay, but I merely found it a pleasant hotel, nothing spectacular.
PROS: Not having brought our laptop on the trip, we really appreciated the free use of the internet-enabled PCs located in the lobby (there are two). Sometimes there's a wait, sometimes not, but generally people were pretty good about not hogging up the time.
The Andel's staff are also friendly and helpful. We inquired about a salsa club in Prague, and the concierge knew exactly where to go (Tropison Club in the Kotva department store!)
The breakfast buffet was also decent; a fair variety of foods but nothing to write home about.
Also, as another poster mentioned, the 700CZK for the private car back to the airport is well worth it. We had taken a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel (250CZK, I believe), and it just felt like a lot of wasted time waiting for other passengers. The private car (a VW sedan) was a quick 20 mins. to the airport and very comfortable.
CONS: A bit more attention to detail could have been given to the rooms. Ours in particular (on the 5th-floor club lounge level, no less) had stains on the carpet and lots of scratches and marks on the wall.
Also, a bit annoying is the low counter top in the bathroom. The sink is at a normal height, but the counter is below that; so I'd say the counter is maybe at groin-height which made for a lot of bending and straightening.
Lastly, despite the cold weather in March, the rooms themselves were very warm! We had to sleep with the windows open every night, but the VERY early morning commotion outside (lots of construction noise, garbage disposal trucks, etc.) did not contribute to our getting a good night's sleep. We faced the back of the hotel (room # 518) , so perhaps my suggestion would be to get a room facing the street.
Overall, not a bad experience. Just nothing terribly spectacular. The hotel is also not located in the most exciting area of Prague, but there is a large mall nearby and the Andel train station is very close by. I would recommend it, but just don't get your hopes up too high.
