The Prague Marriott is a comfortable, clean hotel inside the New Town section of central Prague. It's an easy walk from the Nam. Republiky Metro stop to this Marriott.
We used our free hotel points so I'm unsure of what the room rates would be in mid-October. Our room was a standard, king bed. It was in interior room so it looked out at a business building of some kind, not the street. It was quiet and the bed was very comfy. (If you go downstairs to the "casino" in the evening, as a hotel guest you get a free drink! We went just about every night and never really saw anyone gambling, but enjoyed chatting with the bartender and servers!!) The breakfast buffet in the morning is about $30 a person, but we found nice cafes in the morning for breakfast that were much cheaper.
Prague is a huge city, but very easy to navigate....if you have some landmarks to help you. Some of the sights we enjoyed: Charles Bridge, Prague Castle (plan on half a day-fab views of Prague from here), Jewish Quarter, Museurm of Communism, Old Town Square and be sure to see the Astronomical Clock!! Trams #22 and #23 are great for sightseeing and connect New Town with the Castle Quarter. The first night we went to the U-Prince Hotel for great night views of the Old Town Square. It's a 5-star hotel across from the clock. Take the elevator to the rooftop and take pics and have a drink! Really nice!!!
Overall, Prague is a fascinating, beautiful city! The people are quite friendly, but keep your valuables in the hotel safe. I always kept my purse under my coat. The Marriott staff warned us that pickpockets are everywhere, but we had no problems and felt very safe overall.
