“Never Again”

Landmark Resort

Well Great Location . The rest :- broken toliet, linking shower, dry blood stain sheets, room with a view of windows, pool cleaning with high pressure hose at 6.30am Sunday Morning (one level down), shower in the spa(I am not disabled but needed help to get in and out), car park smelled and flooded on lower floor, maitenance took up car park spaces on long weekend(sunbeds with beers on them?), neighbours where late check in's arrive at 3.00am Sunday waking all around with banging of cupboards, and towels worn out and thin. I have travelled the world and this hotel is not 3 stars. Never Again

“Excellent hotel”

Landmark Resort

Apr 1, 2008

We travelled to Mooloolaba on the Easter break. We were very pleased with this hotel as for once, what you saw in the photos was exactly what you got. We stayed in a studio apartment and it was a perfect size for a couple. The room had a great balcony with partial sea views. The only negative we had with the room was that the air-con was quite noisy.

The hotel is in a great location, literally across the road from the beach. This worked out well as the hotel pool is tiny with only about 8 deck chairs and the area didn't get sunny until the afternoon, in the morning it was completely shaded.

Overall we were very pleased with the hotel.

Mooloolaba on the other hand...we weren't so impressed with. We struggled to get a decent meal, our first night there (Easter Friday) everywhere was closed by 8.30pm. We assumed this was due to Easter but upon asking one of the locals we were informed that this was normal. In the end we paid $80 for 2 of the worst pasta dishes we've ever eaten! All of the cafes in the area only seemed to serve very basic Italian, there was no range or choices.

When we drove to Noosa Heads one day the restaurants along Hastings Street were more what we had expected of Mooloolaba. So even though Noosa is a little more expensive next time we would pay a bit more to get a nicer choice of restaurants and some quality service.

“A cozy comfortable stay.”

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel so just adding additional information to travelers. The Landmark is located in a prime position located directly across the road from the patrolled beach and the Surf Life Saving Club.

Check in – Fast and efficient.

Room-

Our room 448 was a 2 bedroom suite which was extremely comfortable and spacious. It consisted of an open plan combined dining/lounge room and fully equipped kitchen which flowed out to a small balcony with ocean views. The main bedroom was on the small size but again comfortable. The bathroom was large and modern. However, the 2nd bedroom which we used as our dressing room was tiny with two single beds.

There is no house-keeping/maid service for short stays; a good laundry with a clothes dyer is supplied next to the kitchen.

Other facilities –
The Landmark has a lovely outdoor swimming pool located on the ground floor for those who wish to chill out by the pool. Car parking is also available underneath the resort building.

The Landmark opens onto the Esplanade Plaza where one can find heaps of restaurants/cafes and shops. Cole’s supermarket is located approx 10 minutes walk north and the Sunshine Coast Airport is approx 15 minutes drive away.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and I highly recommend the Landmark if you are looking for reasonable rates, good quality spacious suites with a comfortable cozy seaside beach atmosphere.

My fiance and I stayed for three nights at the Landmark Resort and had an amazing time.

When my fiance made the booking over the phone he was impressed with how helpful and pleasant they were to deal with. We arrived much earlier than expected and asked if we could leave our bags, only to find that our room was ready and we could check-in early.

We stayed in a one bedroom penthouse and the views were breathtaking, by far the best we’ve ever seen! Most other places we’ve stayed in tend to hide the bedroom away and leave all the views to the living area, but the Landmark bedroom had floor-to-ceiling windows with ocean views as well. The apartment was spacious and well equipped. The resort itself is well located and beautifully decorated. There are a number of places to eat and shop just underneath the resort and the beach is just a stones throw away. We also liked the pool area with the bridge and waterfalls and enjoyed the rooftop bbq and spa area.

Our only complaint was that the housekeepers and maintenance staff seemed to be under strict orders not to speak to guests. Normally we smile and say hello to anyone we pass, but the Landmark staff seemed to try and make themselves invisible. It was a little weird.

Overall, we loved the Landmark and will definitely be staying there again.

The Landmark has one of the top locations in Mooloolbah being directly across the street from the surf club, beach and especially the playground which was a highlight for my 2 1/2 year old. It was easy to get a bite to eat and get takeaway to bring back up to our room.

I would highly recommend paying the extra for the Executive Level as we had the most amazing 180 degree view from our 2-bedroom unit - #9118..Surely one of the best views in the entire resort. We had a wraparound verandah excessible by 2 different sliding glass doors and waking up to the view of the ocean was terrific. We paid $280/night for a Friday and Saturday night stay.

I picked this resort for the pool which while not huge was plenty sufficient with several "waterfalls", a bridge to swim under, a kiddie pool, a hot tub and chairs to lounge around.
My only criticism would be the master bathroom was amazingly SMALL so if big bathrooms are your thing give this one a miss. For us it didn't really matter as there was the 2nd bathroom with shower so we could spread out a bit. The living was not the largest I have ever seen in a 2 bedroom unit however the balcony and view more than made up for this.
