I stayed at Aligio Beach Hotel and had a wonderful time. I was there by myself and was very comfortable. The hotel is easy, and friendly. Lots of international people.. not alot of English spoken but for me that was alright. The food at the hotel was decent... buffet. However i went across the street on the beach and had phenomenal food that yes cost me more money but it was sooooo good. You have to try it.
The room was very comfortable. I enjoyed the patio that i had. The chairs proved to be good reading chairs. Lots of cows and dogs in the background so sleeping proved to be abit rough early in the am.. but hey you could sleep that breakfast off...
Hung out by the pool usually in the am.. moving to the beach by the afternoon.. nice way to spend the day. There is a coral reef just off the beach.. nice but not beautiful. Just good snorlking.. very shallow though!!!
The staff were good. However the language barrier did prove difficult at the best of times.. they knew better German and Italian then English.. odd i thought.

But I would return. It was so simple. I was so relaxed when i got home. That is the main idea right???
Hope you all enjoy.

“Loved the Bravo Aligio Beach Resort”

Club Aligio Beach Hotel

We stayed here for one week and then moved to a smaller hotel with no meals. The Aligio is a very pleasant family run resort hotel with one buffet restaurant, two swimming pools, a hottub, and a theatre. There is a small giftshop on the resort, but the town of Las Terrenas is ony a short 5 minute stroll away. The beach directly in front of the resort (across a small road) is fantastic. Beach chairs are supplied by Aligio right under their banner flags. The sand is a soft golden-brown, almost white colour. The waters are clear and blue-green hue.

Rooms are very simple but very clean and comfortable. There are plantation shutters for windows and the ceilings on the top floor units have vaulted style exposed wood beams. The bathroom feature a open-air concept with shower only.

The service and food was fantastic. The staff do not speak English, so you must be prepared to speak Spanish. They are used to serving mostly European tourists.

“'Good food'”

I stayed at this all inclusive resort with my boyfriend for 2 nights in Sept 2003. It was worth the money we paid. The food was nice and the reception staff were friendly. This is an Italian owned place that seems to favor Italian's. We were ignored on a few occasions as the spoke among themselves, especailly when my boyfriend went on a dive with the hotel. All in all we would go back.
