“My Experience in Kari Beach Hotel”

Kari Beach Hotel

It was the most terrible experience i´ve ever had in any hotel.

The rooms are terrible, not confortable at all.

The power generator was right below my room and the smoke was getting into my room.

The beds were full of bugs that were itching me all night.

We asked for some ice one night and a very gentle employee was keen to give it to us but then the manager showed up and said: sorry no ice.

The breakfast: the same meal every morning, not good at all.

the bathrooms, i almost forget, there was not a mirror, the shower sent water everywhere but to my body, the towels are very old.

if you care for your vacations find another hotel wherever you want but not in kari beach.

The only detail in kari beach home page thast is actually true is the beach, but of course they didn´t make it.

“Simply thrilling”

I m just back from a marvellous holiday you know, that sort of things you ll never be able to forget. I m from Europe and I enjoyed the Dominican Republic when I first travelled there some years ago, so I fancied the idea of getting back once more. A lovely friend of mine (how could I call him less than lovely after his good advice?) suggested me to visit the peninsula of Samanà and he also addressed me to a small hotel called Kari Beach, located in the village of Las Terrenas, where he had spent some great time himself. I was in doubt about what to do, because on holiday I used to stay at huge hotels with plenty of people, restaurants, swimming-pools, night entertainments and so on, but he was so enthusiastic that he persuaded me. Now I m deeply grateful to him because I spent a thrilling week, feeling even better than at home. The Kari Beach Hotel is really worth staying at, believe me if I say I am the kind of person who does want the most out of a hotel. The clean and comfortable rooms, which are located in a lush tropical garden, overlook the sandy palmful beach and the multicolour sea. And of course the hotel is right on the beach! In the recently-renovated restaurant you can taste the excellent cuisine out of a wide choice of dishes, ranging from appetizers to noodles and rice, then seafood, fish or meat, to end up with delicious sweets and cakes, all together with good wine. The service is good as well and the whole staff is ready to help you with everything you wish. And all of this is at reasonable rates. Moreover, with its four-thousand inhabitants the village of Las Terrenas can offer lots of facilities, and is the right place where you can share your time with both tourists and local people. To sum up, a heavenly experience indeed! Grace

“Small, simple but Fine”

Have been there in dec. 1998.

This is a small and very friendly and personal Hotel in a small village called Las Terrenas on Samana Peninsula. Closed to the beach. The rooms have beach sight with a little balcony, big enough for sitting there. Prices are very fair. Management by a Swiss/Indian couple.

Food top rate! Swiss and Indian (very spicy) specialties. But also Spaghetti and so on. If you like something that is not on the food list, just ask. Kanesh can organize a lot.

Clean Rooms. I remember them with only a basic comfort. No a/c, no tv. The beds just great. And yep, sometimes, warm water went out.

It's very easy to make contacts with other guests, excellent when travelling alone.

A good but not hyper night life is 10 minutes walking away or faster with a cheap motocycle taxi. The road in front of the hotel is very bad, if they didn't change mean while.

The village mostly in french hands offers also banks, pharmacies and everything you need.

In short: A fine hotel for individual tourists who avoids "all inclusive"-hotels.
