“Amzing place with beautiful people”

Te Puna Wai Lodge

What an experience!
I felt totally spoilt - everything was perfect.
Fantastic rooms with every little detail thought of - the bathroom was amazing with heated floor, amazing lighting, heated towel rack amazing bath, shower.
The best thing about this place is the guys who run it whose fantastic hospitality is unrivalled in any place I have stayed. They had the alance right between interacting with guests and giving privacy.
Have recommended to eceryone I've met (almost!)
I hope to go back one day and know that I would be warmly welcomed.

A warm and friendly reception and very comfortable accommodation. James and Richard have created a special home and share it willingly with guests who are treated more like friends. The breakfasts were delicious and the views first rate.

“Amazing Views From Fifeshire Room”

Te Puna Wai Lodge

4 of 5 stars
New Jersey, USA
Apr 15, 2008

We stayed here for 3 nights (2-4 April) and the views from the Fifeshire room are really amazing and worth the extra money. The moment we walked into the room we were taken with the sun streaming into the room and couldn't help but open the french windows all the way out letting in more sun rays. The views are really lovely.

The room itself was large and spacious (and has a 2nd bedroom) and the bathroom was beautiful with an elegant free standing bath and a great shower. The room is on the top floor and there is a small windy staircase to get there which can prove challenging for larger suitcases and taller people (like my 6ft 3" husband)! The bed is very comfy and but if you are a light sleeper (like me) you will need an eye mask as the window opposite the bed does not have a blind.

Richard was a great host and really helped us with places to eat for dinner and things to see. Breakfast was very good and he was flexible with timing. We were doing a kayaking trip in the Abel Tasman one day which meant an earlyish breakfast which was no trouble.

There is a fab resturant (Boat Shed) within walking distance of the B&B which is a must-esp if you can get a table in the area outside - the food was very good. Town is a 5 min drive away so a car would be helpful. We ate at Harrys Bar one night which was good and lively.

We travelled for 2 weeks around the South Island and we really enjoyed our time in Nelson. We hope you do too!

“Best Hospitality”

Te Puna Wai Lodge

Apr 14, 2008

The following review has been submitted:
We loved our two day stay at this
beautifully renovated B&B. Our
upstairs room was great with a
sensational view . The bathroom had
been restored with the very best of
appliances and fittings. The claw
footed bath was long enough for the
tallest of people. But the best thing
was the friendly assistance beyond the
call of duty. I needed access to
internet a fax and a photocopier
because of a lost credit card and the
hosts provided this along with a gin
and tonic. What more could I ask!

From start to finish the three days here were a delight. A warm welcome and an intersting house with super views A bottle of local champagne style wine to welcome you, two excellent restaurants reserved for you a pleasant walking distance in one instance and a well constructed and healthy and interesting breakfast. Close to the Abel Tasman NP and on the edge of a very pleasant small town. Would definitely go back
Top floor is ideal for family or people who know each other well and gives good value

Four contented Geordies
