The hotel is lovely, we went in the grip of Grandfinal mania, and the facilities are excellent. We had a ocean view room with little balcony and the room really was lovely. Unfortunately there was a construction site next door and once it is completed some of this Hotel will lose a lot of light and limit some of their views. We had a lovely time, a special seafood buffet was on at the restaurant downstairs. $60.00 each from memory and they had an a-la-carte section. Throughly enjoyed ourselves and relaxed until checkout. They had valet parking with the room. It was soooo unorganised we ended up waiting 1 hour 20 mins for our car. They had one person checking everyone out so the line at check out was out the door. Poor poor mamgement considering its name and its prices. Unfortunately it was enough to sour my stay and I don't think I will be returning anytime soon

Stayed for 2 nights with my husband and 2 month old son. Received no help with bags when we arrived, were given a cot with the highest sides i've ever seen. They didn't go down so my husband had to put our son in and out as i'm too short.
Room furnishings weren't what I expected for 4.5 stars. Dodgy white plastic lamp shades, ripped chairs and marks on the walls.
When we checked out we were asked to wait in reception while housekeeping checked the mini bar - after we had told them exactly what we had used. That made us feel like criminals and lastly, they added a small amount to our bill for a charity - which I'm not against, but the way they did it was very sneaky.
Overall, not very impressed with this hotel and would definately not go back.

First impression was the staff were ever so pleasant and helpful and really made the effort and so raised my rating to above average. Disappointingly my Starwood Platinum status did not provide sufficient umph to get me a room facing the bay which was across the road and about 100yds away, although the allocated room was quite spacious albeit the decor and fittings were looking a little tired, however, everything worked ok including the efficient aircon. There was much development going on in the surrounding area which should really spruce up the locallity once complete. Bar come restaurant and outdoor patio area had a modern theme and was reasonably priced but there were also many outside options within short walking distance. I chose Geelong as a port of convenience to facilitate disembarking from my Great Ocean Road coach trip early evening on its return to Melbourne and to then board the Overland train from North Shore Geelong to Adelaide in the morning which shortened the coach trip by 1 hour and the train by 1-3/4 hours which worked out perfectly and a trip I would most certainly recommend. For folks not familiar with the area Geelong is also much closer than to Avalon airport than Melbourne is.

We booked adjoining rooms at this hotel and got a great deal the Starwood website. It's your typical Sheraton Four Point Hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and presented as expected. The reception staff were helpful and cheerful. It had a great pool that was trully heated not luke warm like some heated pools. The hotel is located on the Geelong waterfront so lots of nice walking, parks, playgrounds and restaurants nearby. Would recommend this hotel for people visiting Geelong.
