I just spent four nights at the newly opened (for four weeks) Medina in Wollongong. The rooms are very well sized and set up. There are small kitchens, microwave, cutlery, crockery etc. My room had a small verandah and a lounge and big chair with a flatscreen TV. The bed was king and comfortable, and the bathroom was sizeable with a full bath and step-in shower. The property also has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym. The pool is partially indoor, partially outdoor, which might be good or bad, depending on whether you want to sunbake and what the weather is like. I stayed for four nights on a conference trip and it was a good location for Wollongong, which isn't the most exciting place to visit. The walk to the beach was nice, the food i most restaurnts in town was small-town Australian - Asian was some of the worst I have had and I tried three different places. But that wasn't the hotels' fault. Suggest you walk to the supermarkert two blocks away and buy supplies that you can prepare in the kitchenette.
