Travelodge...

EXCELLENT!!

Travelodge had nice spaciouish rooms with a balcony. One side of the hotel overlooks the Fitzroy River and Rockhamptons bridges and the other overlooks the Rockhampton CBD so if your in either side, it wont disappoint. The balcony has a small outdoor round table with two chairs and an ashtray so smokers can smoke outside.

Our room was enough to sleep four people even though we requested three with one of the most comfortable spacious queen sized hotels i have sleeped on and two single beds wonderfully located within the room. The room also contained a typical ensuite bathroom you would see in four star hotels and the hotel has a microwave and tea and coffee making facilities.

The location was wonderful. A 1-2 minute walk to the local City Centre plaza containing Coles/Target etc. The hotel is on the fringe of the CBD and is close to the Bruce Highway bridge that goes across the Fitzroy.

The taxi cost from the airport is $12 one way, and from the station $9-10 roughly.

The service was great with helpful staff which are helpful and are welcome to answer your questions in our case they even greeted us goodbye and closed the taxi door.

The hotel also has one computer which costs $2 for 20 minutes of use on their net kiosk.

Travelodge has a restuarant which is accessible by a boardwalkish ramp thing and the food was okay but not the best.

Overall I RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone going here. Good value for money seeing we booked about 5 weeks before checkin and got $126 a night for four people thats pretty good!

We spent one night at the Travelodge in Rocky and were pleasantly surprised. Our room had been refurbished, everything nice and new, large room and comfortable beds. What else can you ask for a night at a reasonably priced hotel? Staff were friendly and helpful too.

We stayed 1 night at the travelodge. Prior to arriving they warned us that the lift was not operational due to major renovations. We were a little apprehensive but pleasantly suprised. The lift was functioning! Our refurbished room for our family of 4 was one of the most suitable we have stayed in during the past year (We've had 6 weeks of holidays, so have stayed in a lot of hotels)!!

The good...

Request: Delivered on my request for a quiet room on a high floor and away from the elevator.

View: nice view of the river accross the road, there is a walking track running along side it if you like walking/jogging.

Checkin/Checkout: Great customer service, arrived late on a Sunday, the gentleman checking me in advised me of room service etc. All very professional.

Room Service Dinner: Truly excellent, great quality food, delivered quickly.

Room: Clean and nice size

Price: Good for what it was.

The bad...

Bedspread: old and dirty

Walls: Thin; I could hear the person next door shower (that's common in many hotels but it was very loud).

Bathroom: No soap or bottles of toiletries instead plastic dispensers mounted to the bathroom wall, OK I know that's environmentally friendly but a cake of soap would have been nice!!

Roomservice Breakfast: Terrible; cold and runny scrambled eggs that had soaked into the cold toast. Lukewarm coffee.

There are signs up advising that the hotel is being refurbished.
