Stayed in Port Douglas for three nights in November. 2 nights at Sea Temple which was gorgeous but had to have a night at Bale (my birthday) after reading/hearing about it. Yes, it is outrageously expensive at $1200 a night for two bedrooms, but you only live once. This place is on another level entirely. Each villa has three bedrooms, so if you only require say two bedrooms, they just lock up one of the rooms. You still have the spaciousness for the living areas. Own Pavillion style - smartly decorated, open plan, tropical haven where every need is catered for. Stayed with husband and two children (aged 8 and 10) and lots of room for us to all spread out. Kids were thrilled to have a Playstation 3 in their bedroom. "This is heaven" my son exclaimed. Swam in our own plunge pool, reclined on the day bed, sipped champagne, watched a movie, went for dinner in the restaurant, ate mudcrab, kids explored tropical rainforest, had a great massage next day, swam in resort pool which was all ours. Getting the message ...it was just fab. Kids begged us not to leave but had to go further north for my sister's wedding. Wow, what a stay. Had a tour of the whole development by sales agent - what a great place. With prices starting at about $1.8 million for a villa, now I know what to buy when I win lotto.
