My partner and I stayed for the first week in December this year at the Meridian, Port Douglas. The hotel more than lived up to it's website. It was a short walk in one direction to Four Mile Beach, and a similar 5 minute stroll in the other direction to Macrossan Street - the hub of Port Douglas.
Our 'Superior One Bedrooom Apartment' was well equiped, well maintained, and immaculately clean.
The resort was about half full when we were there, and I suspect that the limited sunbathing areas around the pool might be occupied pretty quickly if the place was full, but other than that I cannot think of anything negative about the place!!
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Just spent 5 nights up at Meridian and for the price you pay you would be hard pressed to find better. Booked online and paid $600 for 5 nights. Right on Macrossan Street, clean rooms, nice size pool and excellent hosts....

We found Trip Advisor purely by accident while searching the internet for accommodation and found it extremely helpful in choosing a place to stay while on our honeymoon.

We originally had another place in mind but after reading many different reviews on Trip Advisor we were sold on the Meridian.

The room we had was on the 3rd floor with two balconies a larger balcony overlooking the pool and the other a small area overlooking the main street towards the beach, it had a separate bedroom to living area, fully equipped kitchen, modern and clean bathroom and a mini laundry (washer, dryer, sink etc) shared with one other room.

The hotel is in a really good position not a far walk to Macrossan Street, The Beach and Marina but then i suppose most places in Port Douglas are in walking distance.

The staff were fantastic, helpful and just made our stay so wonderful.

We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

My husband and I stayed at The Meridian for 4 nights and we were very pleased. First of all, the location of this property is great, and is just a short walk to the main street of Port Douglas and the beach. Upon arrival to The Meridian, we were told that we had been upgraded to the Honeymoon Suite. The suite had a separate bedroom, bathroom, living room, eating area, and full kitchen. In addition, there was a private hot tub on the deck. We were happy to be able to use the kitchen for breakfasts and light meals.

This is a very nice property, and we would definitely stay here again. It is a serviced apartment property, so the rooms are not serviced every day. The rooms are pretty basic, clean, and have all of the necessities you will need. It is not a luxurious resort, and it doesn't represent itself as such. We were fine with that, so we knew what to expect. I can say that my husband and I were pleasantly surprised and pleased with the accommodations at this property.

The owners (John and Susan) were very friendly, helpful, and had a great sense of humor. We had booked a snorkel excursion before we left, but it had been cancelled the day of the trip due to bad weather. John and Susan helped us book another tour that same day, as well as booked a rainforest tour for us a few days later. We were thoroughly impressed with the service. We're looking forward to our next trip back to Port Douglas!
