This hotel was just OK for us. It didn't seem to live up to the Crowne Plaza name.

The hotel looked Ok, food was very expensive for most meals. The Thai restaurant there was good for dinner, but the hotel was a bit remote without a car and breakfast and lunch there were expensive.

There was a nice heated pool and area around the pool for relaxing.

The rooms were average and had only 2 double beds whereas we are used to Canadian hotels having queen beds.

We arrived around 11 am to check in for our one nights stay at the Crowne Plaza alice springs. A polite but very hesitant receptionist explained that our room was not yet ready,however he gave us a voucher to go and have a coffe/beer and our room would be ready in half an hour or so,and a short while later we were on our way.
The room was large,2 queen sized beds,tv, tea and coffee making facilities,iron and ironing board and a complimentary safety deposit box,the bathroom was fitted with a bath with overhead shower,and the air conditioning was in working order.
The hotel had an outdoor heated swimming pool,a few loungers and complimentary towels,it also had a health club which we never used,apart from using it as a late check out/changing room.
The main hotel resteraunt called balloons was never busy,and the evening we were there,we only saw a handful of people in for dinner.The hotel also has an Asian resteraunt,which we used and found the food to be very good and reasonably priced.
After dinner we went for a walk then headed to the bar,and although not a big priority to us,we were surprised to see the shutters come down at 10pm,even for hotel guests.
Overall a very comfortable and relaxing hotel,it does however sit slightly out of town,and a walk into the centre of Alice Springs takes about 20 minutes.
As always the hotel swiped my credit card upon registration,however its the only hotel I have ever stayed in that actually put a sale through on my credit card,I assume to see whether or not it was genuine? bit cheeky !! it was only a dollar,but they could have credited it back of again !!
Probably the best hotel in Alice Springs and if you intend staying there I will close in true Australian style by saying "no worries".

My Wife and I stayed 2 nights here. The Hotel is smart but the supervision seemed non existant.
We arrived at 3.00 pm and going to our 3rd floor room, the corridor was still full of trays left over from breakfast. I counted 11of them between the lift and our room and they were covered with half eaten plates of breakfast and looked revolting. When we got into our room I telephoned the reception and asked if someone could come and collect the trays. I then found that the TV remote was missing so I asked for one of those and was told that someone would be right up.
After about 1 hour nothing has happened so I took a stroll down to the reception. All of the trays were still there and others were visible in the corridors of other floors.
At reception I again complained about the trays and asked about the TV remote and was told that they would sort it out. When i got back to the room my Wife got out the ironing board provided in the room but it was broken, so I phoned and asked for that too.
After another 30 mins someone phoned to ask me what make of TV I had.
About 15 mins later someone came with a remote and another ironing board. He tried to switch on the TV but the front switch was broken. Fortunately it was broken in the on position so it could be switched on at the wall!
When we went down for an evening meal at about 7.00 pm the dirty trays were still there!! They had gone when we went back to the room at 10.00pm.
The following day the room was cleaned but the milk was not replenished, nor was the bed made.
I phoned up and was told to call at reception for milk.
We went out for the day and on returning at night the bed was still not made so we made it ourselves!!
We noticed during our stay that around the pool no-one cleared away dirty glasses from the tables or even the dirty towels.
Not Good! My complaint was met with the excuse that "we are very busy at the moment"
However I must say that the Thai restaurant at the Hotel was excellent!

Stayed in a Mountain View Room with lovely views over the golf course and ranges. The room itself was another matter and quite depressing. Dark green floral linens and wicker furnishings. Very 1980s and not in a good way. Bagged concrete walls were a dull grey. Overall it looked very tired and in need of refurbishment.

The bathroom was a good size and clean (no tub) & well lit. Soaps etc were nice, towels nice and fluffy.

Hotel is located on outskirts next to Lasseters (much better rooms at equivalent price- see my other review). Excellent restaurant on-site which is very popular so a booking is required and recommended.

Would not choose to return to this hotel as there are better options in Alice Springs. Website photos do not match the rooms in reality so lower your expectations if you choose to stay here.
