After giving these apartments 9 out of 10 back in October not so the one on our most recent in Feb. In Oct we booked through Meriton direct this recent stay we booked through an outside provider & what a difference that appears to make as we were allocated apt 1601 this is the first floor above the office floors & way around the back of the building with an outlook of a derilect old building beside us to airconditioning units in front for our dare I say "view" whose continious noise made opening the balcony doors undesirable especially when trying to talk on the phone etc. The "open" balcony & the outdoor table & chairs were used by the pidgeons that made their home in the old building next door Now while we cannot complain about the apartment itself as the same standards as on the 49th floor were set on the 16th & apart from a blown bedside light that we mentioned & was never replaced the inside of the apartment itself could not be faulted. Thank god we were only there on business & as such in & out but still would have been nice to come in from a days work to relax on a clean balcony with some sort of a decent view. I bet no overseas visitor would be given this room or a couple above that would afford the same "views" This unfortunately is not the first time we have experienced this type of treatment when not booking direct with the hotel. Also the checkin reception staff were not the friendly staff we encountered on our 1st stay maybe bcause it was 10.30pm & they had had a long day whereas in comparison though check out staff were most helpful & obliging. I have sent a letter of complaint on our issues & have received a "when you return we will look after you" hmmmm we will see should we ever wish to return

Four adults and a child were going to Sydney for a wedding.
My mom-in-law suggested a serviced apartment and I googled accordingly. Found 'M-Power Accommodation' that offered different types of hotels/apartments for different kind of budgets. Contacted M-Power via email and they were very quick with their replies. When asked, they were very helpful with recommendations too. So I went with their recommendation for Meriton Kent St Apartment Hotel after reading favourable reviews in Trip Advisor.

We asked for and got a high floor. The 52nd to be exact, so we could hardly hear the noises (nothing more than a distant hum) from the street even though the roads that surround the hotel were pretty busy. Our apartment faces Darling Harbour, so that was nice. The two-bedroom apartment (with two baths) is well furnished and the small kitchen (they provide dish washing detergent coz dirty dishes incur some outrageous charge) met our needs well enough. It was also convenient to have a washer and a dryer in the apartment (there's laundry detergent, but not dryer sheets or fabric softener). Good-sized bathrooms, but only one has a tub.

Parents-in-law extended their stay and I booked a studio apartment for them in the same hotel. They liked it well enough too, although if I had known earlier, I would have asked for an apartment that is NOT on the same floor (15th) as the swimming pool for them. Reason: MIL told me that the cholrine from the pool would greet them whenever they stepped out of the lift.

The hotel is a little expensive, but you get what you paid for. The location is great; it's easy to walk from the hotel to 1. the major shopping areas, 2. Darling Harbour (has a great playground and a carousel that operates on weekends), 3. eating places, and 4. public transportation.

My son liked the apartment so much, he called it 'our other home'. :)

I found this hotel through a last minute website and ended up getting it $7 cheaper by booking directly through the hotel through a pay up front option.

We stayed one night and found the hotel excellent. The service was great, the room looked brand new, had quite a few pay tv channels and it even had 2 air conditioners (and it was a 1 room studio apartment).

We paid $142 for a Friday night and thought the hotel was great value.

Also, for people interested in a longer stay - the room had a proper laundry, full sized fridge and quite a bit of storage.

My husband and I stayed at this 'hotel' for 3 nights early February. The location is very convenient, in the middle of the busy shopping area. Circular quay and Darling Harbour are an easy walk away.
I have to agree with the comments below regarding the service at reception. Although I have no particular complaint, the staff there was not the friendliest .
The 1-bedroom apartment was very spacious for the two of us, we had everything we needed for our short stay. The furniture is as nice as it can be, not great quality, but I think this place is fairly new, so it still looks good. I was quite amused by the abundance of 'signs' about what you can and can't do in the apartment. (Although later on I found this a bit of a routine at other hotels in Australia as well.)
Having just arrived after a very long haul flight, the first night was comfortable. However, for the rest of the time, the noise level from the street became very disturbing. I did read previous reviews about this, but since I have lived in cities all my life, I am very used to traffic noise etc. therefore I didn't think this would be an issue. Unfortunately ambulances, fire engines, police were passing through many times during the night. It also seemed that most of the street musicians picked this corner and all the party crowd hung around this area, making it almost impossible to sleep.
For this reason I would not stay here again.
