Despite going for the last week of the season, we enjoyed our holiday here. It is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. Standard rooms could do with a re-furb, and perhaps the bar area could be improved. However, the dining room and food were excellent. There was a really good choice - and the vegetables on the buffet every evening were superb. Nice to have central heating.
Don't go if you blanch at walking up steep hills - the courtesy bus only runs three times a day. Good to have access to a computer with good broadband - only 2 euros for 30 minutes.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the 'Royal' for the most part very enjoyable but spoiled by not getting enough information. No-one told us that our 2pin travel plugs needed a further adaptor to work (you can hire them from reception) & although 4 star didn't have hairdryers in the rooms (you can hire them also from reception). Also we were not told there were no kettles in the rooms. Our bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen, from the loo seat you could wash your hands!! Even so we enjoyed our holiday, the staff were helpful the restaurant manager was excellent. We would return if the hotel ran a proper 'Shuttle' coach service on demand from the guest, we were amazed to find it doesn't run at all on Saurdays!! Not a bad holiday. C. Howard

we did not fel this hotel was 4 star.Lovely pools & grounds, but no lounge area, only odd shaped bar area to sit on an evening(too chilly in Oct. for outside).Food adequate but canteen style.Hotel would benefit from new decor & improved reception staff training!

“Best hotel in Limone for value for money”

Hving stayed in many 4 star hotels in italy in the past i found this hotel to be on top of the best list, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there and wolud return again, the only part that is important is that you always book a superior room as we did this gives you air con in your room as well as a balcony and fridge within the room.
what we liked was that although booked as half board . winme was available all day from 10am and also any soft drinks or coffee, you just help yourself. lucnch was also free and of very high quality.
the only thing you have to be prepared for is that the majority of guests were german, but they are ok in the main and better than a number of uk people that i have met onb holidays.
so basically we would rteturn and yes this hotel gets my 5 star ratinmg

My first trip to Italy but definitely not my last and I would certainly return to the Royal. The food in the hotel was amazing and although we paid for half board we ended up with practically all inclusive: huge choice for breakfast, complimentary buffet lunch, tea and biscuits, wonderful evening menu AND free wine, tea, soft drinks from 10 till 6! I am a very fussy eater and never eat much when abroad but I ate like an absolute pig. The restaurant staff in particular were very polite and helpful, and especially friendly with children. We had an excellent view from our balcony over the lake to Malcesine because we were on the top floor, however, I didn't like the look of the lift so it kept me fit climbing the stairs! The decor was faded in our room but it was immaculately clean and large. There is quite a walk down to the town but I wouldn't have swapped the view that it provided and it really is a pleasant walk, scent of jasmine on the air......... Go and stay there, the walk is a small price for the quality of stay.
