We have just returned from this fantastic place. Everybody at the hotel was very pleasant and helpful. It is very early in the season for the resort at the moment and does't get into full swing until June / July time. I can enlighten readers on a few points which have changed since I read the reviews before I went. Breakfast now a couple more hot food choices, as well as a whole load of other cold foods. The Taverna was closed off for James Bond filming and the villa beach area was just springing to life the day before we were leaving offering massages, pedaloes etc.

After reading reviews and staying their my opinion is yes some blocks are high up and other guests did have to walk up a lot of steps. A superior room is well worth it. The walk to Limone is 15 - 20 mins but its not a killer we are mid 30 - early 40 found it really nice met a couple in 70's they managed it. There is a free bus as well although didn't need the services of it.

Evening entertainment was really good as well. The Tuka Tuka people were great got the children dancing and tired out and off to bed. Then we had different live music, the Tuka Tuka team are fairly new. Don't forget Johnny his moto is if I only have 5 seconds I use it wisely and make sure I speak to people, its the little things in life that count.

“Great holiday”

We stayed at this hotel May 17 th-24th 08.
Sadly from the moment we got off the plane to the day we went it rained! But we were greeted with a very warm welcome by all of the staff at the hotel with drinks presented to us on arrival.

Through out the whole holiday all of the staff through out the hotel really made the effort to be nice and pleasant to everyone.
We stayed in the superior rooms, which were very nice and seemed to have a better view of the lake then the other rooms and weren't over looked. The views across the lake were amazing!

We went on a few of the trips which I highly recommend doing, the trip to Venice, which was amazing.
The Dolomites trip which was right up to the top of the mountain, with fantastic views!! The coach ride up/down was quite scary as the roads were very tight!
And finally we went on the wine tour, which was lovely; it was a family run business, very welcoming and nice.

The food overall at the hotel were great, evening meals couldn't be faulted in any way lots of variety and very nice. The only problem we had was with the breakfast, only hot food was bacon and scrabbled egg and beans, needed more variety.

Limone its self is about a 20minute walk away, we only walked it once and used the free mini bus a few times. One night we stayed in Limone late to watch the football and got a taxi back from the rank which cost about 9 euros.

Another thing to mention, although we stayed all inclusive and all of the drinks were there for free and to help yourself, they also had a bar menu of well known spirits/wines and cocktails, we did end up paying for drinks on a few nights just for more variety and they were very nice. The cocktails were around 4 euros each.

The only down sides to the hotel we had were-
The décor was very dated in the main hotel area like the bar and lobby, we even noticed 'cork' on the walls, definitely in need of an update.
And more tables and chairs the bar area, as lots of people had to stand up. The staff was very helpful though and if there’s room they can get spare tables and chairs for you, which was great.
Also the food in the afternoon, they only had cake and fruit. In other hotels I have stayed in you can usually get things like chips/burgers/hotdogs all afternoon not just two hours for lunch which is good as on a few occasions we missed to lunch slot and were left hungry.

Another thing to mention was the number of Germans staying at the hotel, for the first half of the week there were very few English people, second half a few more English families came. I'd say there were 80 percent Germans.

Over all this was a great holiday enjoyed by everyone in my party. I would return to the Lake again but next time try the south of the lake.

“Great place to stay on Lake Garda”

The Leonardo Da Vinci is just outside the beautiful, unspoilt village of Limone on Lake Garda. The walk downhill into the village takes about 15 minutes, although the hotel does provide a shuttle bus at regular intervals and you may prefer this to the uphill walk back to the hotel.
We stayed full board and the food and service were excellent - good variety at all mealtimes. Rooms well appointed and ours had beautiful views across the lake to Malcesine.
The hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool and also an indoor centre including fitness room, sauna & solarium.
Staff spoke good English and were very helpful. Our stay was made more interesting due to the fact that the production crew for the new Bond movie were also staying there and filming scenes on the road on which the hotel stands.

“Wonderful”

Leonardo Da Vinci Hotel

We stayed here between 3rd and 10th May 2008. We were upgraded to a superior room which was wonderful, beautiful views across the lake, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge we even had a bottle of water and a box of chocs in the room.
Our room was ideal ,although some rooms were in blocks higher up the hill which may have caused a few problems for people with walking difficulties.
The pools and gardens were well maintained and the food was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a delightful beach area down 85 steps if you feel energetic but again this was well worth the effort. There is also a lovely little beach bar with little tables on the edge of the lake
(not connected to the hotel and therefore you have to pay for the coffee and drinks etc - but again well worth a visit )The walk into Limone which took about 20 mins was easy and very pleasant and well worth doing, although there was a shuttle bus every hour for those who could not walk.
The only little complaint I had was that during the afternoon only biscuits and cakes are available and after a 10 hour journey with only a plane meal we were desperately hungry at 3.30pm when we arrived, but had to wait until 6.30 for our meal. When we asked if there was anywhere nearby where we could buy food, The reception staff did not tell us about the independent beach bar where we could have purchased food, they just said there was cake and biscuits available. However,
I would definitely go back to this hotel again.
