“It's what you pay for”

Disney's Hotel Santa Fe

Apr 12, 2008

Booked this hotel through the Disney website and visited at the beginning of December but got it at an incredibly cheap price (3 nights just over £200 for two people including breakfast and four days in park!).
It does what it says on the tin. It's cheap but you will only be here to sleep, there is nothing to do at night but that is what Downtown Disney is for. It was an excellent deal and the room's aren't glamorous and more like a Days Inn in America but if you want a pool or a nice relaxing hotel, go to one of the more prestigious hotels. As long as you know this it will be a good stay.
Excellent value for money in my eyes.

I have stayed at The Newport Bay, Sequoia Lodge & Hotel Cheyenne before, but this time decided to go with the cheapest Disneyland Paris hotel.

It was perfect. Check in was extremely quick.
I booked our breakfast for 7o clock each day so it wasn't very busy and we made the most of the extra magic hours from 8am-10am each morning, getting on all the rides without the queues.

Although it was quite a trek from reception to our room, the room was nice, set out exactly the same as any other Disney hotel. We got up early every morning, went over for an alright breakfast (I must admit brekkie was nicer at the Sequoia and Newport Bay). We then took a nice walk through the Disney Village and other hotels to the park, got on the big rides without having to queue, before the park actually opened.

We didn't really make use of the hotel buses, apart from the first day, getting from the Eurostar to the hotel with our suitcases. We were the first in the Q and after 10 minutes, us and another English family were at the back of the Q. everything you hear about the French, Spanish, German Q-jumping is true!! They just don't do Q-ing! - but this happens with all the hotels.

Overall apart from the shower being a bit temperamental (i.e. one morning I was getting burnt, and the next I was freezing) the hotel was worth the money. One night it rained and rained and rained so instead of going out to Disney Village or another hotel, we stayed in the hotels bar trying all the different cocktails (non-alcoholic I must add) and ate nachos. There was entertainment in the bar as well to keep us busy.

Although I enjoyed my time at this hotel, I much prefer the Newport Bay, Sequoia Lodge, or even the Hotel Cheyenne, just because of the atmosphere. The Santa Fe seemed to be lacking in atmosphere for me and you didn't always feel like you were in disneyland!

“Good hotel”

Disney's Hotel Santa Fe

I stayed at the Hotel Santa Fa from the 17th March for three nights with my partner and her 8 year old son. We travelled by Eurostar which was very easy and stress free. The hotel was a great choise and ticked all the boxes for us. It may be the cheapest of the Disney hotels but we only used the room to sleep and shower in. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. When we got there check in was packed but it did not take long to be allocated our room. The room was very clean and had a TV showing the Disney channel, BBC world and some Annoying woman telling you the ten best things to see and do. You do get towels provided but i think ours were all kids size. Every morning i would suggest looking to see which Disney charactors would be in reception signing autograph books and taking pictures with guests. This helps you to avoid all the pushing and shoving that happens when you come across the charactors in the parks. When you check in you are given an allocated time for breakfast. Ours was 7.00-7.30, which although early worked for us because we could get the free bus which runs between the park and your hotel every ten mins or so, in time for 8AM when the park opened. However although is says the park is open for you two hours before the public, only a few rides are open, the main one being Space Mountain, so go on this early and there will be a minimal que. Whatever you do, do not que for breakfast, just walk in through the ajoining bar area and find a table. We saw people waiting ages for breakfast. I would also take some sandwich bags with you to breakfast so you can fill some rolls with a bit of continental breakfast, i.e, ham, cheese or jam. This is because the food prices are well over priced. We paid £50 for lunch at the Rainforest cafe and they are all about the same price and all do the same kind of food. All in all I do not think you can go wrong with this hotel and would deffinetly reccomend it!

“Disney”

Disney's Hotel Santa Fe

Recently stayed in the Santa Fe in DisneyLand Resort Paris for 4 nights in March. Hotel was great, rooms were spacious and had everything you needed, hotel staff were very friendly and would have done anything to help you. The only thing i didn't like was at breakfast if you were later on in checking in you will maybe get left with the earliest breakfast or even the latest as you get a time slot to go for breakfast. We had to go at 7am one morning and one morning it was qued all the way to reception so we just went to the village for breakfast. The restaurant here is like a buffet restaurant but the food one night was cold but the next night we went the food was lovely, just your luck really.

The disney vilage is about 5-10 minutes walk along the river at the back of the hotel, we didn't bother getting the bus into the village and the park as it was easier to walk. So many people seem to get the bus not sure if they knew just how close we were. The parks are just after the disney village and are brilliant fun, parades are a must, just a good atmosphere. Both parks are excellent, they just go out there way to make it so believable for kids.

we also booked the day trip to paris through disney and it was a great day. Left about half 9, we drove around the sights for 2 hours and then stopped at the long garden area at the eiffel tower for half an hour. We then went on the boat for half an hour to notre dame cathedral, this is beautiful inside and if you have the chance go in for a wee look. you then get the boat back to the foot of the eiffel tower and go up to the first floor of the tower and the views you get are lovely, very busy here though. The majority of the day we got to ourselves even though it was an organised tour, there just there to show you where to go, we had about 5 hours to ourselves wondering about at notre dame and the eiffel tower.

We also went to the sea life centre, you have to go on the rer line for one stop, i wouldn't say this place is great took us an hour or so to go round it, quite disappointing. The sea worlds etc we have here in scotland are a lot better.

I know people have problems getting to disney but i would recommend paying that wee bit extra and getting the shuttle bus through holiday taxis we were there in just over an hour from beauvais airport. it states that it will take 2 and half hours but it doesn't even in traffic on the way back it only took an hour and a half. it does cost mor it was £55 pp for the return journey but definately worth it, if you aren't on a tight budget.

Definatley would stay at the santa fe again and would come back to disney land, would like to go at christmas though.

“Tired but good”

Disney's Hotel Santa Fe

Mar 18, 2008

I've just returned from my three night stay.
On arrival I was dropped off by reception and dealt with quickly by multi-lingual staff who gave all the necessary information.
The hotel is divided into blocks each with a number of rooms over a few floors.
The room I had was 'Single' on the itinerary though had two double beds. There was a TV and a ceiling fan. It was a little 'tired' but comfortable. The shower was impressively strong and started the days well.
Breakfast was let down solely by the organisation... long queues formed where they could have easily been avoided... was it really necessary to tell everyone the obvious? You get tokens for particular time to attend for breakfast too. Make sure you get times convenient for your plans (remember the main park opens at 8am for residents - get your 'extra hours' ticket though!)
Transport to the parks was by regular (10mins apart) shuttle buses. Yes... they're often packed... but no more than a trip on the tube or an airport transfer. No problem.
The evening 'eat all you want' buffet at the hotel was 19e adults, 10e kids. There was a wide selection there which catered for most tastes. The stir fry was particularly good.
There is a free baggage store for you if you want to spend those last hours in the park.
On the parks... I'd recommend avoiding the weekend if at all possible. Queue lengths were massive on the popular rides and many don't have fast-pass.
Take some snacks in your luggage for taking in with you.
There is an Esso with a small supermarket right beside the Santa Fe if you need any provisions at realistic prices.
Enjoy!
