Arrived late and only stayed one night before moving on, so this is just a snap shot.
Room was a decent size (3 beds double & single), clean and quiet, ensuite okay but would benefit from a refurb. Had a sea view which was nice but would look better with the sun out (as always!).
The restaurant was okay, lots of fish dishes. Thought it was well cooked but a little over priced for the amount of food you got. The veg was a little uninspired, carrots & boiled potatoes. The breakfast was good though, full Irish, cereals, juice etc.
The staff were attentative and made sure that the restaurant still served us.
The public areas were traditionally decorated (patterned carpets and dark wood), with lots of photos with famous golfers (one of Michael Douglas & Catherine ZJ!). Indeed most of the guests seemed to be golfers, as to be expected in this area. Also some tour bus guests.
In summary, an excellent location both in middle of Waterville and on the Ring of Kerry, traditional (perhaps a little dated) interior, good basic food and good value for money. Good for golfers and dare I say it, the more mature visitor! Perfect for what we wanted: an overnight stay.
