One of the nicest B&B during our trip to sunny (!!) Ireland in May 2008. Big, absolutely clean room, nice view, quiet location (10 minutes walk to town – 15 minutes for returning back up the hill after hanging out in the pubs), tasteful and generous breakfast and very charming innkeepers.

Our first, but not last, trip to Ireland and the country was as beautiful as we had heard. Two B&B's that greatly added to our having a great trip were the Lighthouse in Dingle and The Shelmalier House in Athlone. Both were spic and span, super location(close to the town and shore), great accomodations, and wonderfully hosted. Our hats are off to both owners and you can bet our next trip will include them.
Another tip: based on our experience, we will stay away from 'farmhouse" B&B's. They didn't seem to be working farms, even when listed as such, and the location and facilities didn't hold a candle to the 2 recommended above.
Lastly, 6 days is not enough, although we drove over 725 miles, so plan for more or, as we are doing, plan another trip.

We travelled around Ireland staying in B&B's and this was by far the best B&B we stayed at the rooms were huge and the bathrooms very clean and fitting. The owners were really nice and the place had a great homely feel about it.

Contrary to what other said, we thought it was a bit far out of town, you could walk it in 15min, but we drove.

The other great thing is this place, Dingle peninsula and Dingle itself are a must see in Ireland

First of all, Dingle is absolutely spectacular. it's exactly what you picture Ireland to be, so green and just stunning. We drove from the Cliffs of Moher/County Clare that morning, which was also beautiful, but not quite as green. The Lighthouse was easy to find and had a great location on a hill so it had lovely views of the Dingle bay. The town was great and there was surprisingly a lot to do on the pennisula. Unfortunately we just spent one night there so I feel like you lose out on some of the B&B and getting-to-know-your hosts feelings, but the room was large, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was delightlful and hosted in a nice dining room with great views of Dingle. Definitely recommend a stay here.
