“Fantastic Break !”

Heaton's Guesthouse

Feb 10, 2008

My wife and I stayed at Heatons whilst on a long weekend to visit the Dingle peninsula at the end of January 2008. It was amazing. Nula , Cameron and Jackie were superb and couldnt do enough for us. We booked the junior suite which was spotlessly clean, large & comfortable and a perfect base to explore the area. Breakfasts are not to be missed ( start with porridge with drambuie, then anything else !! ) to set you up for the day. The local scenery is stunning. I cant recommend Heatons enough , We hope to get back whenever we get a chance for a "cheeky weekend" away again.

“Friendly service, great room”

The owner and family were extremely friendly. We booked a jr. suite with a "waterview" which was deceiving. The bay, at low tide, is a muddy mess! When the tide comes in, then there's water and it's beautiful. We checked in a low tide and thought it was a joke but were pleasantly surprised to come back to the room in the evening and see water. I can't say a bad thing about the room, service or breakfast. Everything was absolutely wonderful.

“A Home Away From Home”

Heaton's Guesthouse was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. The room was spotless and the breakfasts were divine. The scones were the best ever! Our room faced the beautiful bay, which was just beyond the road. Although the road was busy and somewhat noisy, the excellent construction of the house blocked the noise. We would highly recommend Heaton's to anyone staying on the Dingle Peninsula. You will not find a more gracious host and hostess anywhere.

“Fantastic B&B”

I felt like I was at a 5 star resort. One of the best B &B we stayed in. The rooms are large, the view is wonderful and the breakfast is to die for! Some of the finest homemade food in Ireland.

“Immaculate room & lovely view”

Heaton's Guesthouse

We stayed at Heatons for two nights in an upstairs suite, which was an immaculately clean and luxuriously furnished room. It was spacious and the en-suite was massive, with a walk in shower and jacuzzi bath. The bed was sooo comfy too.

The breakfast was good - I loved the special porridge and the fruit salad was great - it even had fresh plums and strawberries in it. The open smoked salmon omelette was fantastic too.

The guesthouse is well situated a 10 minute walk from the harbour and the views across the bay are stunning. We found the location to be quiet and peaceful.

However as previous reviews have stated this is a guesthouse not a hotel, but I was still surprised not to find tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Also our room did not have an iron, although this was listed on the website. When my husband asked to borrow one he had to go into the owners private accommodation to use it! For these reasons I did feel that the room was very pricey. It was actually the most expensive place we stayed in Ireland and the others were full hotels with restaurants, bars and comparable views etc.

We did enjoy our stay, Heaton's is very comfortable and the location was beautiful.
