“B&B in good location”

Virginia's Guesthouse Kenmare

Jun 29, 2008

This is an interesting old home above the stores on the main street of Kenmare. The rooms were reasonable, however the bed was not the most comfortable of the 8 B&B's that we stayed in on our two week tour. Being over the restaurant on the main road also made it rather noisy at night.

However, the hosts are very very nice and were very friendly and accomodating. The location is great for exploring the city as well as for geting started on the ring of Kerry bright and early in the morning. Neil agreed with our projected tour route and confirmed that taking the ferry from Skellig Ring was the way to do the Ring. He also confirmed our route on to Dingle and gave us great suggestions on how to do that route as well.

“As wonderful as everyone says!”

Virginia's Guesthouse Kenmare

Jun 5, 2008

We chose Virginia's because of the great reviews; and we had a great stay there for two nights. Neil met us at the door and welcomed us like old friends into his home. We had a comfy room on the third floor, facing Henry Street. The next morning we met Noreen, and then were treated to the most filling and delicious breakfast ever. Honestly Noreen, that was the best fresh squeezed orange juice, bowl of porridge, and french toast! Thank you again!

“Loved Virginia's”

Virginia's Guesthouse Kenmare

5 of 5 stars
Beaufort, SC

Virginia's Guesthouse is delightful in every way. Neil greeted us and from that moment on, we felt completely at home. He was so helpful with our bags, making dinner reservations for us, and providing us with insight for our touring the next day. The rooms are so spacious and comfortable -- beautifully appointed and furnished. The next morning we finally met the incredible Noreen and had the most sumptuous breakfast! They serve a 3-course meal with the freshest ingredients each day -- the melons were perfect. However, Noreen has whipped up this little specialty with thick slices of bread, pears, Cashel blue cheese, and bacon which is a "to die for" way to start any day. Kenmare is a lovely, lovely area and what a gem Virginia's is. I would recommend this property without the slightest hesitation. Just terrific!

“Loved it Here!”

Virginia's Guesthouse Kenmare

As far as accommodations go, this was the highlight of our trip.

The room itself was cozy. The bed was comfortable and the size of the room was nice compared to some other B&Bs we stayed in throughout Ireland.

There is a safe in the room and there was satellite tv with a ton of channels. There was also a towel warmer in the bathroom. We slept with the windows open and had no trouble with noise.

Noreen makes an incredible breakfast. Neil and Noreen were so kind and friendly. The both genuinely cared that we enjoyed our stay in Kenmare.

I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Virginia’s.

“Very Pleasant Stay at Virginia's Guesthouse in Kenmare”

Virginia's Guesthouse Kenmare

We recently returned from a road trip of Ireland, and spent a night at Virginia's Guesthouse. This B & B is very conveniently located on the main street of Kenmare. We were only there for one night, but found it to be a perfect place to spend the night. The room was very comfortable and clean. The hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed an absolutely delicious breakfast in the morning. We walked across the street to a pub and had a really good dinner then spent the rest of the evening enjoying traditional Irish music. Kenmare is a lovely little town and I would highly recommend spending a night at Virginia's if you are visiting Kenmare.
