“Will definatly be back...”

Lansdowne Arms Hotel

Jun 21, 2008

I have nothing bad to stay about this hotel. Everything was perfect. The food was fantasic, everything was fresh. We really enjoyed breakfast. It was all very personal and very tasty. If you go you must try their award winning poriage, It's to die for. All the staff were very helpful. We had a problem with the beds in our room and the very nice receptionist came straight up to the room and handled or problem straight away. All the bar staff were very attentive and friendly.

We went down to Kenmare because I have family down there and it was my nanny's 80th Birthday. We had dinner with the whole family and I couldn't fault a thing.

We will definatly be back to this hotel. This is a great place to stay. It is right in the middle of the town so if you want a good night out or just a bit of shopping it's perfect for both. I work in a hotel myself and am usually very judgemental when it comes to hotels but like I said there was nothing i could fault this hotel.

Highly Recommened!

This is a great family run hotel. We paid 90 euros for a double room and thought it was great value. The rooms had antique furniture but were modern and the beds were very comfortable,The hotel itself is a beautiful converted townhouse with open fire, piano and chandelier-it is extremely well kept and sparkles from polishing. The staff are extremely friendly and accomodating and the breakfast was magnificent(especially their award winning whiskey porridge).

“Adequate”

Myself and family members stayed in the Lansdowne Hotel on a Friday over the Christmas period.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar food was quite tasty and reasonably priced.
The breakfast was fairly standard - cereal and full Irish.

My one gripe about the Hotel was the bedrooms. The bed linen wasn't large enough for the bed and looked old fashioned enough to belong to my grandmother. Significant street noise could be heard through the window which wouldn't close properly. This street noise (being a friday night) went on until about 3 or 4 am. Other members of our family whose rooms were at the back of the hotel were exposed to the repeated stopping and starting of the air conditioning unit mounted near by. The rooms in general were in need of refurishment and not the standard I've come to expect when staying in Kenmare.

“Well Done All”

I stayed in the Lansdowne as i was attending a wedding accross the way in the Park. I must say on arrival the girl that checked us in was very pleasent and cheery( to any weary traveller this means alot) The rooms were basic but clean, i love the little details on the quilt covers and pillows. We arrived back to the hotel at around 3am to have to stand in the cold for about 10-15 mins to be greeted by a not so cheery night porter. Breakfast the following morning was great - i was greated by a lovely lady who showed me to a quite table in the cornor and chatted away until she got my coffee and breakfast order and guided me to the buffet table. The cooked breakfast was the best i have seen in ages. Well Done staff of the Lansdowne I will be back!

“Full Service Historical Hotel”

This is an older hotel right in the middle of the village. The rooms are older but remodeled. The bathrooms were standard and very clean. There is some noise from the street, but it did not keep us awake. The breakfast is served in a lovely, formal dining room. There is a nice pub with music off of hotel lobby. My mother wanted her hair done, and the hotel made an appointment for her.
