“Wonderful Place”

Oasi Beach

5 of 5 stars
glasgow
Jun 12, 2008

We have just returned from a 7 night stay - the only problem was the weather, which hard as they tried, Cristina and her father could not change. This hotel is spotlessly clean, the hospitality is second to none and I would say if this is a place you are considering staying in then look no further. It''s a 5 minute drive from the centre of Malcesine and there now is a tourist bus (1 Euro each way) which runs once an hour in to and out of town so you need not worry if you want to try some of the delicious local wines with dinner! Cristina's English is superb (makes you realise how lazy we Brits are about learing another language) and she is always available to provide great advice on places to eat, visit etc. At the moment there is no swimming pool but planning permission has been granted so they hope to get building work under way at the end of this season. In the meantime it is no problem to go for a swim in the lake and then head back to laze on a sunbed or a hammock in the garden.

Great place!

Even before we arrvied at oasi Beach, i knew that it would be great. I booked directly through the hotel by email (which i got off there website) and then recieved about 7 lovely emails from the owners Daughter, Cristina. She gave great directions to find it from the airport, information on the opera in Verona etc

It is a little bit out of Malcesine, but it is a nice walk along the lake (or a bike ride - the hotel has a few bikes) in to town, and parking is easy.

There is a road between the hotel and the Lake, but this is the case in nearly all of the hotels.

There is no pool at the moment, but they are planning on building one this winter, regardless of this, we were so near to the lake that we swam in the lake, which was far better than swimming in a pool.

There are only 7 bedrooms, and all have a lakeview, which in itself is very special. Our balcony was huge as was all the ones next to us, with a sunlounger, and table and chairs.

The rooms were fine, comfy bed, good bathroom, minibar, safe and aircon.
The only negative would be that the towels are not great, dont go expecting bug fluffy ones - maybe take your own.

Breakfast was fantastic, meats, cheese, cereal, bread, cakes and loads more. They even do bacon and egg.

It is in effect only a bed and breakfast, but we enjoyed gettting back at the end of a night, and having a cappachinl and drink in the bar before bed.

There is loads to do within a short drive away, Lots of people told us not to go to Riva del Garda, as it wa too big and touristy, so we went only for dinner one night, and were surprised and how nice it was. It is very big in comparison to most of the other towns and villages around the Lake. But has a great atmosphere in the evening. lots of lovely bars and restaurants. Big designer shops such as MaxMara, Dior, Chanel, Lacoste, Prada. Which was nice for window shopping.
Malsecine was my favourite town (lucky as thats where we were based) big enough to have lots of shops and restaurants, but still a little town feel. This is also where the cable car goes to the top of Mount Blanco.
The cable car to Mount Blanco is a must, but you have to go early as the amount of people waiting in line to get it is silly. At the top you can watch them parrogliding off the mountain, there are a coupl of restaurants, it is like going skiing but with out the snow, as all the ski lifts go here, and the restaurants play yoggling music and serve hot chocs and strudel among lots of yummy things. They even have deck chairs so you can sunbathe.
We also stayed at another hotel in Bardelno. But thats another story.
All in all Oasi beach is fantastic value for money - and hit the nail on the head with every aspect.

“Simply a great hotel”

Oasi Beach

For the price we paid this hotel was almost faultless... the rooms very very clean, the bathrooms were fantastic, the breakfast was great.

We arrived into Brescia airport rather than the bigger Verona, it is alot easier if you higher a car if your flying into this airport (somthing that i would recommend doing anyway). The airport is West of the lake whereas the hotel is SouthEast, however it is by far the best way because rather than travelling to the lake via motorway you reach thesouth of the lake and drive around it going through some amazing little towns on the way.

The Hotel itself is a 5-7 minute drive out of the centre of Malcesine, it would take 15-20 minutes to walk, and taxis are expensive; however there is cheap parking in the centre so we tended to drive down for dinner then bring a bottle of wine back to the hotel.

They had no problem with us empting the minibar and stocking it with our own choice of drinks and snacks.

Its position does however lend it incredible views from all the rooms, with balconies to enjoy the best of it.

I really can't fault the hotel as a b& b and the service was fantastic, the owner cant do enough to help, she even ensured our clothes were pressed for the wedding we attended, despite have no ironing/ laundry service.

Everything thing in this hotel is clan fresh and smiley and if we ever return to the lake we would consider staying anywhere else

“out of this world”

Oasi Beach

my boyfriend and i have just come back from a truly amazing holiday to lake garda. we chose this hotel as it has had some very good reveiws, and it did not disappoint. we flew into verona with ryanair (cheap cheap cheap) and the hotel organised for a low shuttle bus to collect us for 10 euros per person and take us direct to the hotel. the drive is a pleasant one, but it does take some time. the drive to the hotel took about 90 mins or so, but the scenery gets better and better as you drive along.

we arrived at the hotel to be greeted by Christina (the owner's daughter) who was very friendly on emails and was very lovely in person. our room was lovely, spacious, clean and tidy and the view was out of this world. the hotel is set in the mountains and all the rooms face the view of the lake. behind the hotel is more land and trees and another mountain. the room has a mini bar which is excellently priced, for example a large glass of wine was 3 euros....

we were on the first floor and the balcony was very big and the view amazing. i personally would recommend staying on this floor as the balconies on the floor above were a little smaller.

the walk to the lake is about 30 secs, it is on the doorstep of the hotel. it really was a truly magical stay and we are planning on going back agian next year after their refurb (they are a new hotel and are now refurbing to build more rooms and a pool).

breakfast was lovely and the afternoon bar was good. this closed at 8pm adn then guests could have another drink in the evening bar.

the only downside of this was that we didnt have car, and there are only a few places to eat in walking distance (4 to be precise). most also do not speak English so bring a phrase book!!!

If you are thinking of going here just do it, it is amazing and it makes a refreshing change to other hotels we have stayed in. we felt really welcomed by them and cant wait to go again!x

“Out-of-this-world Oasi!!”

Oasi Beach

I have just returned from a superb week's holiday in Malcesine, on Lake Garda, in what must be the most perfect hotel setting imaginable. We got there around 1am, so had the added advantage of waking up to the surprisingly spectacular sight of the lake, right in front of our lovely terrace, with the mountains soaring above. Our room was immaculate, the bathroom and all other fitments beautiful, and scrupulously clean. There was also a well stocked, and extremely reasonably priced mini-bar.
Cristina and her Father, who own the hotel are the perfect hosts. I had corresponded direct with the hotel through e-mail, following excellent reviews in 'tripadvisor', and found that she was as helpful and friendly in person as she appeared to be on e-mail.
I developed a bad throat infection when I was there, and Cristina brought me tea in bed, plus her father took me to the local Pharmacy to get anti-biotics! When we asked about getting take-away pizza one night, Cristina's father took the order, then proceeded to drive to the place and deliver the pizzas himself! He even brought them up in a tray for us to our room.
The breakfast was wonderful, with freshly squeezed orange juice, and a terrific selection of fresh rolls and bread, cold meats, juices, cereal and cakes - too many items to mention individually!
The only very very slight disadvantage I felt was the location. The hotel was 5km from Malcesine, and we seemed to be the only people all the time we were there who didn't have a car. The local bus was never on time, and stopped running around 8.30pm, and in addition to this, the taxis from Malcesine were expensive. This, however was the only tiny fly in the ointment of a fantastic holiday, with a beautiful hotel, wonderful hosts, and a magical lake setting.
If you are considering this hotel, just go. You will find it is worth it, and as tripadvisor says, 'get the truth, then go!!'
