Following a two day visit to Florence, we decided to spend three nights at Pietrafitta based on its excellent ratings at the TripAdvisor site.
These recommendations proved to be totally true based on our own experience at this beautiful place.
The magnificent and convenient location, the high quality of the apartments and above all the hospitality and professionalism of the manager, Luigi, and of his lovely wife, Vera, make all six of us to highly recommend Borgo de Pietrafitta.
We will definitely be back.

Our friends and we had a wonderful time at Borgo in late October. The apt (2bed, 2bath) was perfect for 2 couples, and on the 2nd floor of a beautiful stone building that has been completely renovated inside. The apartment was spotless, the beds firm and comfortable, and the bathrooms were very modern. There is heating in all rooms (much needed for cold October nights). The kitchen was large and had all modern appliances. We made a great meal using ingredients from local merchants in Castillina, which is around 5 km away. Property is tucked in a beautiful pocket of Chianti country and very close to other towns (Radda, Gaiole, Greve, Siena, and Montalcino). A big shout-out to Luigi and his wife Vera for making our stay so warm and comfortable. We started every morning with a visit to Luigi to ask him for recommendations for dinner, best way to get to a town, etc. He knows everything and everyone in Chianti, and is more than eager to share with you.

You could not find a better location for touring Chianti and it's best hill towns, Greve, Panzano, Castellina, Rada, Gaiole, Arezzo,Cortona, Siena, San Gimignano,Voltera and more! We had three of the midsize structures and it was perfect with fantastic kitchens , large bedrooms, new bathrooms, patios and ours looked out over the infinity pool that was just beautiful with the sun going down behind the pool giving us the most incredible sunsets. Waking up to roosters crowing really gave me the feeling of being unplugged from the hectic pace of city life.
Luigi and his wife were most generous, giving us a fresh baked apple cake, wine and a very warm welcome. This is a place I will return to and hope others will visit for a true taste of Chianti in Tuscany!

Even having the reviews here and Pietrafitta's website to base a decision to book here, its always something of a leap of faith anytime you book somewhere you have no experience with. All I can say, this place exceeded our expectations in almost all respects. The property is fantastic and gorgeous, a tuscan postcard. We had a medium sized one bedroom on the back side of the property. It was charming, clean, roomy with nice modern appliances - dishwasher, new stove, refigerator. Our patio area looked out on an expansive wilderness - beautiful place to sit with a morning cup of coffee. Only possible negative is we could hear the people in the unit above in the morning moving around, and the property doesn't have a/c. The weather was really mild our week there, so it certainly wasn't needed. They are at elevation, so I imagine its fairly moderate heat wise most of the time here. The property's manager, Luigi, is a real gentlemen. He was very helpful and professional in giving us advice on places to visit, and assistance in dinner reservations. The location of the property is a nice place to visit many of the beautiful towns of Chianti - Castellina, Radda, Greve, etc.
