Vienna really won both me and my wife over just by this Hotel. The staff had to be the most professional and sweetest in all of Europe. We arrived about six hours early for our reservation and the staff insisted that we relax in the dining room and help ourselves to breakfast while they rushed our room to be ready.

We stayed in the 'Owners Suite' which was a beautiful, large, hard wood floor apartment. Very comfortable bed and nothing looked cheap from the high end bathtub and shower to the bathroom. You almost felt like Beethoven himself in such an elegant hotel.

The hotel is also located a few blocks from the Museum district and this is where my wife and spent a good eight hours exploring as many museum exhibits as we could.

At night we checked out this very dark, hipster asian bar/club called Ra'mien --- Very cool atmosphere with live DJ downstairs. We happened to be in town on Sunday night and they were the only place open that had life to it.

My wife and I have just spent two weeks in Vienna at the Hotel Altstadt and it is all that everyone says it is. From the outside, you would hardly know that it was there, but on the inside, it was warm, quaint and very friendly. Our room on the fifth floor was 25 feet by 25 feet, with 10 foot high ceilings, 2 feet thick walls and double doors. Easily the quietest room I have ever slept in. The reception ladies speak fluent English and are very good at their job.
The breakfast was first class. It is a ten minute walk to the Museum Quarter, 7 minutes to the subway and within 5 minutes, you have many excellent and reasonable(by Vienna standards) restaurants. I highly recommend it.
