We were looking for a hotel in Karfas and this seems to be the best one in the area. We were initially given a superior room for the regular price of a standard, then bargained for an additional 10% discount, and in the end we were offered a suite without even asking!
In theory, it was a fantastic deal; in practice, there were a few problems.
It was obvious that the suite had not been occupied for a while. When
we moved in, there were no towels or glasses, and there was a nice spider (with its impressive net) residing by the bed. Despite our request, the glasses only arrived after we had grabbed two from the breakfast buffet. The main light bulb in the bathroom and every single one on the balcony needed replacement. The curtains had been misfitted (requiring disproportional effort to get right), while the balcony doors would not shut completely.
Other than the above, the suite was great. The view from the balcony was SUPERB, the room spacious and furnished stylishly, the large bathroom came with a jacuzzi. The breakfast was pretty good and included some welcome local specialties, but the quality of some items was poor (e.g. bacon was mixed with cheap ham). The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool area overlooking the sea, flanked by a bar and a restaurant (inclusive meals are served elsewhere, though). Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Erytha and would recommend it to anyone. Having said that, we would probably not advise paying full price for a suite of this standard.
