Lovely holiday in Chalia. Very quiet and family owned place everywhere. On thing was the beach is stony n painful to walk on because they were hot sharp stones. although you can drive to another beach about 10 mins away.
All in all was ok.

The hotel was beatiful. Private balcony overlooking the ocean. Very spacious living room, efficient kitchenette, large bedroom. Very new & modern. Gorgeous pool. The manager went out of his way to welcome us & helped with our ferry booking.

I would advise anyone who has booked Mikes Apartments/studios to be aware. If you are given a room on the ground floor chances are you will have very little privacy. We were allocated room 102, our terrace/room was directly in front of the access ramp to the apartment blocks. Although Mikes is a very comfortable place to stay your peace will be disturbed by either 1)Screaming children around and in the pool. 2)The echoing voice of the barman in the adjacent pool bar belonging to The Malame Imperial. 3)The service staff who will wake you in the morning with their conversations about last nights goings on.
Another thing that might get on your nerves is the clique, their are a number of people who return to this accommodation time after time. You will recognise some of these people because they float around like they own the place, and god forbid if you enter their pool bar and deflect Manos'attention from them.

We greatly enjoyed our stay in June 2005 at the Mike's Apartments . The location is excellent with major sights within easy to get anywhere . The hotel staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms nice and clean . We would highly recommend Mike Hotel Apertments for travellers who want to be close to the best parts of Crete and want a relaxing stay.
