“Damp greeting”

Parnassos Hotel

2 of 5 stars
Australia
Dec 30, 2006

We were a family of 4 and stayed in the Parnassos for 1 night. As per the previous reviewer we arrived late in the afternoon and our rooms were not ready. We waited 40 minutes and finally the rooms were ready. Being tired we thought we would have a small nap. to our surprise the bed sheets were damp / wet. We complained to the house maid, who told us that the sheets just came from the laundry and it appeared to be normal practice that the y were not dried. Upon further complaint to management the sheets were changed with dry ones. The rooms were OK and the bathroom was adequate.
Breakfast was terrible. For a family of 4 we received a small loaf of bread, a small amount of cheese & ham, a boiled egg & coffee.
The staff were not very helpfull and not interested in their guests.
We probably would not stay at the Parnassos again. and would prefer not to stay overnight in delphi at all.

“Good Location, Yet Somehow Inconvenient”

Parnassos Hotel

I only stayed in this hotel one night, which turned out to be a good thing since I encountered so many problems there in such a short time. When booking the hotel, I asked them via email whether they had parking. They assured me that they did. When I arrived, there was no parking to be had. We had to find a public parking area that was several blocks from the hotel. On top of that, we were informed that our room was not ready yet and we would have to wait 2 more hours before it would be ready (it was already 2 pm, so that meant we had to wait until 4 pm). We decided to make the best of things and go see the sites while we waited. Upon returning to the hotel, we had to wait 20 minutes before anybody showed up at the reception desk. We were given a room that was about the size of a postage stamp (although it was a very clean postage stamp) and issued a remote control for the A/C (which ended up not working). It turned out the remote control was for a different room, but the women at the front desk didn't want to disturb the occupants of the room that did have our remote control (even though we apparently had theirs). Lucky for us it wasn't that warm that evening anyway. The next day we were not surprised to be greated with a terribly mediocre breakfast. Then we had to lug our own luggage down several flights of stairs because a departing tour group was keeping the hotel's one tiny elevator tied up. In the end, I would recommend avoiding this establishment.

“Reasonable Hotel In A Tourist Area”

Parnassos Hotel

3 of 5 stars
Sydney Australia

Myself and my girlfriend stayed in Hotel Parnassos in February, 2005 for 2 nights.

++ The Location ++

Delphi is a 3 one-way streets affair. If you are driving from Olympia, the hotel is on the street heading towards the Temple of Apollo. It is easy to find and is located in the middle of the street right in the heart of Delphi. It is within easy walk to all the ancient sites.

++ The Hotel ++

Do not expect that it is a Las Vegas Bellagio Hotel. The hotel is a small-medium size. As you enter the hotel, you will pass through a lobby with a fire place with the restaurant on your right hand side which serves free buffet breakfast to hotel guests. It also has 4 computers with internet access for a small usage fee and a flat screen TV.

There is a small elevator to the hotel room.

The corridor is a bit dark.

There is no parking area (but I dont think any hotel in Delphi has parking anyway). You wil need to park it on the street.

++ The Room ++

The room is small, simple but adequate. It is a little bit dark.
Despite you ask for a double bed, it will comes with 2 joint-single beds put together. It has a small TV with local channels, a writing desk and a wardrobe. The bathroom has a shower cubic. Soaps and towels are supplied.

The room is clean and has telephone.

** What I like about the Hotel **

1. The elavator
2. The breakfast
3. The PC with Internet
4. The Plasma TV at the Restaurant
5. The Fireplace at the lobby

** What I dont like about the Hotel **

1. The insufficient lighting
2. The 2 joint-single beds.
3. The room size.
4. The lack of parking.

++ Overall Comment ++

If you are looking for a luxurois hotel, dont stay here because it is not. (in fact dont stay in Delfi but stay in Athens instead). Parnassos Hotel is in the tourist town and everything here is expensive. Nonetheless, the hotel does provide you with a service at a reasonable price at this touristy town and also in a convenient location near the ancient sites.

“Great Experience”

We had a fine experience for the first time every going to Europe. The only thing that really surprised us was that fact that I order a double room, but that meant two beds. The people were freindly and courtious, but be ware of the telephone charges. You WILL BE CHARGED EVEN IF YOU USE A CALLING CARD. They do have a computer/internet lounge (as do many hotels in Delphi).

We had a great time.

i stayed at this hotel on march of 2003 and it was a unique experince. the hotel is located in a very cute town and the people at the hotel and the surroundings were very nice. the rooms were average size but they dont have a nice view. the floors are weird because they dont go from first floor on up instead the lobby is like the middle of the hotel and the floors go from there. i would stay there again anytime.
