The hotel is located in Sytagma Square. The location is excellent.The room and bathroom were well kept and clean.This is a first class hotel. Everything was fantastic.

We just spent five nights at the GB while on a group trip. You will probably not find a better hotel here in Athens. However you will pay for it. The rooms here are all great but differ in size and views so do your homework before booking. Do NOT stay here if you are allergic to marble! The place is just full of it. Ditto on the protests. They will cause you some wasted time. Great fun though watching collage kids and riot cops clash while downing beers on your balcony.
pros............ The spa probably rivles any in Europe (my wife said so). The view from the bar at night is great (the view of the bar tab was not so great). You can walk to all. No ripoff taxi needed.
cons.............Very small Gym! Our room had a cramped shower. Some time delays during a protest. The GB will inform you the day befor a protest however.
Tourist tips if you have time.........Climb the Corinth Hill. I just stared at it from down below and I now pine. Check out a sunset. From the temple of Poisidom would be my choice. Something crazy goes on here during a sunset. Strange colors everywhere. Likely caused by the abundence of noxcious/toxic smog. Have Fun.

We stayed at the GB twice, for two nights each time, during our honeymoon in September 2006. Both times, there were street protests around Constitution Square -- the first time, we had to walk four blocks with a month's load of luggage... the second time, they sent bellboys to help us out! The first stay, we had a wonderful rooftop suite with a gorgeous view over the Akropolis, and wonderful amenities provided courtesy of AmEx Platinum Service. Unfortunately, there was construction going on, giving a slight smell of fresh paint all over our floor -- so for our second stay, we were upgraded to the Presidential suite (with a walk-in closet larger than our Manhattan apartment!) The restaurant was excellent, rooftop pool area gorgeous, and the beds sumptuously exquisite... we slept like Greek gods! And the view(s)... wow! Front row seats for a changing of the guards and the best Akropolis panorama in the city. Did I mention we love this place!?

This is the best hotel in Athens. Great rooms, location, and staff. If you can stay here, we think it was well worth the price. I highly recommend it. Not only because of the luxury (not to mention the best breakfast view of the Acropolis), but also because of the location. The rooms were very clean and well-sized. Great bathrooms too - especially for Europe.
