Recently returned from a stay at the Clube Do Lago, it wasn't our first choice but we were pleasantly surprised.

Room was a good size (we only booked the basic studio) with its own balcony overlooking the pool area. Staff were attentive and helpful throughout our stay.

The hotel has good facilities although some of these carry an extra charge for guests (indoor pool and the gym are those that spring immediately to mind). Charge for the gym was 9 euros and it is reasonably well equipped if a little cramped.

Only complaints would be the breakfast which was less than impressive (although at least it was included in the price rather than an extra charge). The hill back to the hotel can also become quite tiresome after a long day or staggering back home in the early hours. No complaints with the location though as (hill aside) Monte Estoril station, Cascais and the Casino are easily accessed.

All in all a very enjoyable stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We had a lovely time in the hotel the studio room was very comfetable and clean. The bar is cheap but not many people using it. the breakfast was average but still better than a few other places we have been too. the staff were very friendly and helpfull. yes the hotel is on a hill but caused no problems. we also booked throgh medhotels and got a very good rate.

We loved our stay there, it was exactly what we wanted. The room was nice and big, the ktchenette had the bare essentials, the decor was pleasing on the eye, the level of cleanliness was fantastic and the reception staff could not have been more helpful.

We weren't looking for a place which had entertainment laid on so we were not disappointed at not finding any.

The location is a bit out, up a hill but the bus stop is 400 metres from the hotel, and as two tickets cost 3.30 euro and a taxi just cost 3.50 - 5 euro max we used to walk down the hill to the bus stop and if we saw a taxi, we'd stop it and going back to the hotel we always got a taxi from the station, (we are 56 years old and it is uphill going back).

It was really easy to travel to Lisbon city and the beach was great. I preffered the beach near Estroril station. It isn't the nearest beach as it is about 2 kilometers from the hotel but as I said before you can get the bus or a taxi if you don't want to walk.

Prices of drinks and snacks at the pool were qutie cheap, and the restaurant was affordable. As with most places, it was the wine which pushed the price up. Room service was nearly the same price as the restaurant so if you didn't want to cook or wanted to try something different you could always get your own wine and have the meal room service.

We got a great deal from medhotels.com and if we go to Estoril again we will certainly go back to Clube do Lago again.

Was therer anything negative? The only thing I can think of is that the bacon at breakfast was not that great. So what!

I have stayed here on several ocassions and found it ideal. All the rooms are spacious and well equiped with fridge , tv and cookers. There is a good shop around the corner to buy bread and drinks. The beach is a 10 minute stroll away but the hotel is set in a peacefull area.
The restaurant was poor as was the breakfast but that did not bother us as we went out or had our own breakfast in our rooms.
The best rooms are higher up because they get more of a breeze as the air con is poor.
The pool is very small and is used by none hotel guests which means you cant use it unless you put your towel out very early, but we prefer beach anyway.
This is a great "BASE " hotel for discovering the area rather than a hotel to "stay only "
